@Moriarty
The year is 2309. People are occasionally born with powers, and science has reached the point where people can be given certain abilities– for the right price, of course. Most powered people become superheroes. They're the new celebrities, right up there with the most popular movie stars and famous music artists. Of course, there are sometimes villains, too– who are just as well-known as the heroes, except infamous instead of famous.
A young girl has idolized these heroes ever since her childhood. She loved them, always dreamed of what it would be like to work with or as a hero. She wondered what it would be like to save the world, to change it. The people around her told she never would. They thought she would never make it.
But she did.
She became a hero.
She hasn't been one for long, but she's determined– and she has decided to go after a big-time villain.
Everyone tells her she shouldn't. They tell her it's a mistake. She doesn't listen.
Nobody knows his real identity, but he calls himself Verdict. He has killed more heroes than anyone can bother counting. Everyone that has came after him has ended up on their knees, bloodied and destroyed. His methods are brutal, usually involving total mutilation and decapitation. He has no respect for the people he kills. Society hates him. The media slanders his name. He's known as a hero-slayer to many, and he is a force to be reckoned with.
What angers people most is that, supposedly, he has no powers. He uses technology alone as his weapons.
He says he can justify his actions, that he's not the villain of this story, but no one will listen to him long enough to hear what he has to say.
And now, a new heroine is after him.
Or maybe he's after her.
YOUR CHARACTER: The Heroine
You pick everything about her. Her past, her deepest motivations, personality, appearance, etc. You can pick how she's viewed by society as well. She's a relatively new heroine, but has she taken down many criminals yet? Is she incredibly powerful, or does she defeat her enemies with her wits? Is she popular with the public, or just mediocre? Is she living up to what she wants to be, or does she feel like she's falling short? It's up to you.
MY CHARACTER: "Verdict"
No one knows much about him except for the fact that he has killed a lot of heroes– and that everyone loathes him for it. Almost everyone knows who he is, and lots of people– especially college-age students– like to fantasize about his death and torture. They'd love to watch him bleed to death, to suffer. The only people who view him in a positive light are creepy little thug gangs here and there, essentially cults, but Verdict doesn't acknowledge their existence.
But, one must come to wonder… is he as bad as society thinks? He claims his actions are justified. Are they?
Or is he just a psychopathic murderer?
He's 25 years old (though this is not common knowledge) and has been operating under this alias for several years now. He's incredibly intelligent. After all, he beats people far more powerful than himself with nothing but technology.
READ ALL OF THIS
- If you can't post at least once every couple days, please don't join.
- Please only join if you're willing to commit to long-term roleplay.
- SHIPS ARE WELCOME, but they are not required. No homo, though.
- No sex scenes. All romance must be appropriate. Hugging, kissing, hand-holding, and other non-sexual acts of love are welcome. Sex scenes will be skipped over or implied.
- No curse words or dirty language. Keep it PG-13.
- Give me injury descriptions if you want. I don't mind the blood. Just don't get too gory, please. Remember. PG-13
- No supernatural powers. The powers are just unexplained. They can be about whatever you want. Be sure to refer to the chart below for help, though.
The following powers can be given by scientists:
Enhanced strength, speed, or agility.
Heightened senses.
Heightened healing factor.
All other powers are only for those who are born with them. Scientists are still working to artificially create more powerful abilities.
I honestly have no clue how this roleplay will go. Maybe we'll ship them. Maybe one of them will kill the other. Maybe neither? There are some interesting paths that I have already considered, but we'll determine those later down the road. Feel free to ask questions.
