Felix reached out his hand and shook the other's firmly.
"I'm Felix," he said, "It's good to meet you."
He had a very slight but genuine smile on his face. The vibes he got from Tyler were a little offputting, but he was sure they'd get along fine- especially since Felix didn't make a habit of making enemies.
With a sideways glance, he motioned in the direction of Katie, who was entering the area.
"I think that's out last person," he said, "I'm not sure though. I can't really see her face from a distance."
Enzo observed, finally deciding to turn to the group instead of just looking over.
“Yes, as he said I’m apart of this team,” For reasons I’ve yet to understand, although Enzo left that unsaid. That was a question for another time, answers he was sure he’d be able to uncover in due time.
Folding his arms, Enzo listened to the two speak. “Enzo Boulet, as I said earlier.” He introduced himself. Looking over, Enzo made note of the approaching woman.
The others were just about properly associating from what Katie saw, so she quickened her pace. Though first impressions didn’t matter, keeping a professional air was.
She shut the parasol and hung it’s handle over her arm.
“Hello everyone,” she said to the group, mustering the kindest smile she could. “I apologize for taking so long. I am Katie Stewart. I made it a point to study all the files so you won’t need to worry about reintroducing yourselves. I look forward to working with you all.”
Now that she had started talking to her team members, everything about this just seemed more and more exciting. She’d probably have opportunities to look further into what each person here studied. Which would bring opportunity to learn and understand more, and hopefully add to what she already knew.
“Ditto,” Tyler said, turning back to the plane and looking it over. He began rocking on his heels, a hand still stuffed in his pocket and another holding the strap to his backpack.
Not that he didn’t trust the supplies on the plane, just that he trusted his more. He had brought a lot of his own, because that’s what he knew. He didn’t really like things he didn’t know.
With a quick glance back to the group, although he still stood facing away, he asked, “Does anyone know when we board?”
“I’m not sure,” Felix said, “But we’re all here, so I take it we go soon.”
He gazed over Katie and smiled.
“Your outfit is lovely, by the way,” he commented.
He tugged the strap of his backpack, hoping the compliment would come across okay.
“Thank you Felix,” she bowed her head a bit in his direction. “As for when we board … the message was rather devoid of anything relating to time. Depending how you look at it, it could become concerning when it comes down to deadlines and time limits.”
After looking at the topic of time a bit more, Katie was become a bit worried. Research wasn’t that hard to get done, but getting results took a lot longer. It also depended on how dire the situation was and how fast a weapon was needed. It would be easy to simply find something to destroy the Mimic, but because there was only a single specimen available for study, looking at the effects of destroying it would become difficult. Trying to un-write a genetic sequence would also prove quite an adventure.
Listening in in silence, Enzo introduced himself for hopefully the last time today. “Enzo Boulet.”
Enzo glanced over at the plane. “If I’m not wrong, the plane should be open.” As if to check, Enzo turned and made his way over. The vehicle port was indeed open; the ramp was down. Letting his arms drop to his sides as he walked, Enzo investigated the area. He may not be the ‘wait for further orders’ type of guy, but that didn’t mean he was the type to charge straight in, either.
Upon walking up the ramp, which wasn’t steep, one could see two vehicles just as stated in the information that was given. They were vehicles designed to either move on the road or off-road without much trouble. Enzo could see a door, presumably to the rest of the plane.
Felix followed Enzo, checking over his shoulder to see if the others were following.
"Shall we head in?" he asked, passing Enzo to reach the door.
He had a hand on the handle and started to turn it until the door cracked open, leading into the cabin. Without any more response from Enzo or anyone else, he stepped inside.
“I would think it’s safe to assume we have permission to board now. Since the plane is evidently open.” Katie stated.
She followed through the door, though she was still a bit skeptical about exploring too much. Soon enough, it would be important for her to explore and understand how all the equipment operated. The thought of looking through all the new machinery and spaces was exciting in itself.
“We should probably familiarize ourselves as well.”
