(surreptitiously looks over my universe’s rules too so technically even if Joshua was a witch, he’s too young to display any abilities. But we can make an exception, since he’s your character. Just know that Arabelle is gonna be super heckin’ confused)

@Tired-but-passionate

As Arabelle watched the boy transform, it occurred to her how young he was. He can’t have started puberty yet, so even if he was a witch, he would still be a young boy and not the blue jay before her now. The question of whether he was a witch or not still hung in the air; perhaps it was possible that he was just very gifted or powerful? She wasn’t sure if she should be low-key afraid of Joshua or confused by him.
She decided to test him a little. “How about a sparrow?” She suggested.

(I don't respond for 2 days and I've missed an entire page XD)

Forti smiled at Cassius. "It all depends on what you define as a downside," he said. "I knew someone here who thought that the sun was a downside. They didn't want any sun. They were a vampire, of course. We couldn't, unfortunately, turn the sun off, because the other guests did not want that to happen."

He turned to Arabelle. "The villas are open to anyone who would live there. As you will soon find out, everything here is for your pleasure, so if there is anything you need, then just let one of the staff know, and we will help you to the best of our abilities."

Cass sighed “im a vampire, but the sun is the last thing I’m complaining about” he rolled his eyes.
“I think youre just stalling arent you??” He asked softly. The words sounding harsh, but his tone never anything near that.

“Wait youre a vampire?” Vienna asked in confusion, looking at him. Even though his skin was a dark chocolate color, he seemed slightly pale. But she was still shocked at this fact.

Cass turned back to Vienna “uhm…yeah. Have been for the past 200 hundred years.”
“Oh….okay” she says, still confused. Watching everyone else’s interaction too, she figured they came from different worlds. She knew all too well it was possible

(Sorry it took so long, Thanksgiving happened lol)

Joshua chirped and transformed into the different bird. He stayed in that form for a few seconds for Arabella, then changed back to his normal form. "See?" he said, giving the two women a big, proud smile.

@Tired-but-passionate

(It’s aight)
“That’s really… fascinating,” Arabelle found herself saying. She almost wanted him to change into more species, but she didn’t want to tire him out. She sipped her coffee again, then chuckled. “I guess you all want me to show off now?”

Mia nudged Joshua playfully. "That's a pretty awesome talent ya got there, bud. Hang onto it." Hearing Arabelle's question a minute later, she shrugged. "Well I mean, no pressure or anything. It's your call." Still, she had to admit that she was actually quite curious about how Arabelle's magic actually worked.

@Tired-but-passionate

Arabelle shrugged back. “Well, I got a few tricks up my sleeve. But I can’t decide-“ a thought came to her. “Ah wait, I don’t want to waste my blood in case I might need it. Oh, but then again, I might not need that much…”
She shook her head, attempting to clear it. “Well, I don’t want to waste it, and I don’t want to scare the kid,” she muttered, half to herself. “Okay.”
She eyed a stray branch on the forest floor. With relative ease, she poured her focus onto it and eventually it lifted into the air of its own accord. Arabelle guided it over to her, allowing it to rest in her free hand. She looked up at the others.
“Okay, I’m assuming that you think this branch shouldn’t feel super warm, right?”
She didn’t wait for an answer, turning her focus back to the branch. Her gaze fixed on it, she concentrated on the molecules that made up its cells, willing them to move faster. Soon the branch felt like it had been near a fire in her hand. She held it out for the others.
“Okay, feel it.”

Mia reached out curiously, seeing an unfamiliar buzz of magic around the branch. "Wow. It really is warm." She laughed slightly. "How the heck did you do that? Is that really blood magic? Is it an illusion, or something to do with thermal energy, or…..?" Magical mechanics had never been one of her passions, but seeing something completely new was exciting enough to fill her with interest anyway.

@Tired-but-passionate

“Thermal energy, I suppose,” she said casually. “You just gotta speed up the atoms in there, you know? It’s not blood magic, but I’d show you if the kid won’t be too scared.”
Arabelle’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, in tempo with her beating heart. Despite her casual tone, she was nervous about what she had just done. Calm down, just pretend they’re witches too. No one is going to come out of the bushes and beat you up.
Truthfully, she would be totally alright with not showing anymore magic for the time being if Mia declined her suggestion.

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

Mia shook her head incredulously at how easily Arabelle described "speeding up the atoms", as if that was something everyone could do. Personally, she could only think of one kind of magic from her world that might be capable of atomic manipulation, but not on such a refined level.
She very much wanted to see blood magic in action, but as she glanced at Joshua, then back at Arabelle, she started to detect a bit of nervousness from the witch herself. Perhaps now wasn't the time.
"Tell you what, maybe we should save our strength," she suggested tactfully. "Who knows what we're gonna be facing in this crazy place. It wouldn't be great if we got too tired to deal with it, yeah?"

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Joshua gasped when he felt the branch. "Whoaa…" When Arabelle mentioned 'the kid not being too scared', he put his hands on his hips and puffed his chest out a little. "I'm not scared!" he insisted, oblivious to the witch's discomfort. He was nine whole years old, and tough too!
