Roland laughs, and instead of answering, he asks a question: "You remember the Headlocker?"
Roland laughs, and instead of answering, he asks a question: "You remember the Headlocker?"
"Do you remember that physical pain dose not compel me to cooperate?" Addic countered. "The Headlocker is old. surly you have come up with something more modern to threaten me with."
"A newer model not only causes physical pain, but… well… I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise." Roland smirks.
Addic raised an eyebrow and started to say something when Maia opened the door and ran over to them. "Is the testing for this done?" she asked Roland. Addic sighed and took a step back from Roland.
Roland laughs. "Once more. This time, you'll be fighting her."
He points to a third door, opening to reveal an unnaturally black interior. A black mist spills out, and a woman emerges from it. Her eyes, white pupiled, slitted like a cat's, with black irises and eye whites, were focused on the pair in front of her.
"Long time no see." Sadie says, grinning.
"Shit." Addic said under his breath. Maia looked in surprise at the woman standing before them. She looked to Addic and then to Roland. "Hi?" she said uncertainty.
(Meep?)
(Yeah, sorry! Been a little distracted. Cough cough Anyways…)
Sadie, while her face looked coldly pleased, her eyes look worried for Addic. They ask the question she would not dare say: Are you and Maia okay?
Meanwhile, she steps forward, the mist curling off her fingers until she's holding a greatsword in one hand.
"Let's have some fun, Addic!" she grins.
Addic drew his own sword and leaned over to Maia. "go back and hide in the door. I'll come get you when we're done. ok?" She nodded and ran to the door. Addic waited for it to close completely before walking over to Sadie and brushing his finger tips across her skin, thus establishing a mental connection. Do we look ok? We're here for crying out loud! he said into her mind. Addic stepped into a defensive stance, inviting Sadie to make the first move.
Sadie watches as Maia hides, then jumps as Addic touches her. The flinch reveals just how much abuse she'd endured over the years.
Fair enough. I was happy when you guys got out of this hellhole. How did Roland find you? she thinks back, swinging her sword at an astounding speed towards Addic's chest.
We ran into him at this weird inter dimensional soup cult. Are you ok? Addic easily blocked the swing and countered with a thrust at her left arm.
What the- nevermind. Only you and Maia could get to someplace like that. And no, I'm not. I've been stuck here since I was 3. she sighs. She knocks Addic's sword away and ripostes.
I know, we came here together. remember?
Addic caught her sword with his and twisted it, loosening Sadie's grip.
I keep forgetting that you've never been out. One of these days I'm going to take you with me.
Sadie chuckles. Good luck breaking out again. He's nailed this place tighter than a king's coffin.
She feels her grip loosen, then produces a warhammer in her other hand, swinging it at Addic's head.
Is that so? Addic's psychopathic smile of joy he had hidden for so long emerged as he dogged the swing and pulled on her sword, causing it to fall out of reach.
how long have you been able to summon weapons? I thought that only I knew how to do that.
Yes. Sadie laughs, matching Addic's grin with one of her own, like a grinning rictus.
My mist. I've always had it, I just never had that much control over it. she says, summoning another sword while the one that was knocked away dissolved. She turns the hammer into another sword, and scissors them in a vicious blow.
Addic bent over backwards and stuck his sword in the middle. Forcing them to stop. He reached down and pulled a knife from his boot and slashed at her leg.
I missed this. And how ever much I love my freedom, I missed you too
Sadie feels the stinging kiss of the knife and twitches, but it gives her a chance to slash at Addic in return, trying to catch him in the arm.
I did too, Addic. I did too.
Addic saw the slash but dogged to late, and was rewarded with the feeling of his warm blood trickle down his arm and stain his sleeve green.
you missed me or the fighting?
Addic stood up, moving to catch one of her swords. At the same time, he caught sight of Roland out of the corner of his eye.
Is he going to make us fight to the death?
I missed both. she replies.
She notes Addic's glance towards Roland and presses her advantage, backing him into a corner.
I don't know. At the very least, until we collapse from blood loss. she snorts.
Roland, meanwhile, finds impossible hand- and- footholds on the wall, climbing quickly up to his seat.
I really am sorry for taking Maia and not you.
Addic stepped back and used his sword to shield him while cutting the main arteries in Sadie's left arm.
well then prepare to bleed
Don't be. She is your family. Blood family. Whereas me, I have no family left. Sadie sighs.
She lashes out at Addic in return, quickly losing blood, connecting with the arteries and veins in his thigh.
I wouldn't have it any other way. she grins.
She is blood, but she did not start that way. She needs my blood to live, so she takes it. that is the only connection we have.
Addic's leg spasmed as her blade made contact. And he responded with a cut behind ether of Sadie's ears.
*At least you still have her… do you remember Karla?" Sadie gasps.
She feels her blood draining away, and responds by slicing at Addic's throat, hoping to hit the major artery that lies there.
I don't, I'm sorry.
Addic takes another step back, dogging the slash and running into the wall.
Are you trying to kill me now?
Addic saw little black spots developing in the corner of his eyes, but he refused to pass out. He leaned forward and made another cut on her bicep.
