Ali sniffed, pausing for a moment before leaning into Serenity and offering a hug, holding the other tightly as gentle sobs escaped her.
Serenity sighs, and smiles slightly. She bundles Ali up, and heads to the couch, sitting down and setting Ali on her lap.
She makes soft, comforting noises, stroking Ali's back gently.
Ali took deep breaths, her eyes closed and her heart content while she struggled to accept what had just happened. The soothing gestures Serenity made only made those thoughts melt away, and soon Ali was fast asleep.
Serenity laughs silently, and stays perfectly still. That took a lot out of both of us.
She yawns, then passes out herself.
Ali awoke with th rays of the sun casting honey-colored light across her face. She opened her eyes slowly, looking up at Serenity's exhausted face as she ran a hand through the other's hair. Faded memories from the night before flickered through her memory as she turned away, ashamed.
Serenity wakes a short while later, her eyes popping open. She sees the shame and sighs, stroking Ali's back gently. "Hey, look at me. It's okay."
Ali brought her gaze back up to the girl, sniffing gently before leaning generously into Serenity. "I'm sorry. I should have trusted you." She mumbled
Serenity chuckles. "I'm sorry too. I should have been a little kinder."
She kisses the top of Ali's head. "So… what's going on with you?"
Ali sighed skaily, closing her eyes while she collected her thoughts.
"I'm…. what's known as a soul drainer. I live off of the life of other living things, k-kind of like a vampire. Normal sustenance doesn't do much for my energy, so I have to do things like… that in order to live normally." She explained. "I'm so sorry. I should have told you sooner."
Serenity nods. "Okay. Thank you for telling me."
She takes a deep breath. "I'm an Evoker. I'm fully, completely human but I have magic capable of restraining giants. The reason for this is because I am a descendant of ancient kings, from the time of Babylon and Ur."
She shrugs. "That's all I am."
Leaning back, she examines Ali closely. "We're good, right?"
Ali tilted her head, watching the girl intently as she relaxed in her arms. "Wow…" She muttered, sitting up a bit and leaning on the other's chest. "We're good." She said with a smile, smoothing Serenity's hair
Serenity chuckles. "Good. I'm glad to hear it."
"So, what now?" she murmurs, relaxing again.
Ali sighed, tilting her head to look out the window. "I… Don't know. I…." She sighed, lifting her eyes to gaze into Serenity's.
"Can I tell you something?"
Serenity cocks her head to one side. "Yeah. You can tell me anything, you know."
Ali took a deep breath before continuing, willing herself to say the words. "I feel like… something is going to happen. Something bad. And soon." He shook her head as she sighed and nestled deeper in Serenity's arms. "I know that sounds crazy and stupid but, I've been able to sense things before. Im just… scared."
Serenity looks troubled, and frowns slightly. "I've never heard of people being able to sense such things. Not in any lore I've read, at least. But I know someone who might know someone else, if you're willing."
Ali looked up, understanding Serenity's confusion. "You do?" She asked tentatively, her expression brightening slightly. "I'm pretty desperate at this point"
Serenity nods. "Aye. And I see that."
She gently moves Ali, then gets up and stretches.
Ali watched, crossing her legs while he admired Serenity's lean physique. She was absolutely stunning, especially in front of her like this. "Do you think that the whole… bad feeling warrants the need to go to classes?" She chuckled, leaning back
Serenity turns a conspiratorial grin on Ali. "Who said we were going to classes?"
Ali giggled, smiling eagerly while she leaned on the couch. "Good."
Serenity walks into the bedroom, throwing on a black skirt, ripped black tights, an old, faded Bon Jovi t-shirt and a pair of worn combat boots.
"C'mon, get dressed. We have places to go!" she grins.
