She looked at her lap, a small blush spreading. "I don't know why. I just asked if there was anything he wanted to show me."
She looked at her lap, a small blush spreading. "I don't know why. I just asked if there was anything he wanted to show me."
Persephone and Hades smile. “Well then…” Hades says.
She gave the two a tight smile. "Has he always been like this?"
Hades nods, “Since…um…” He sighs, “Since his ex partner.”
"What happened there?" She knew the barest of details. She was fishing for more.
Hades sighs, “We don’t know much…we’ve tried talking to him…but he’s refused to say anything…”
"And what did you figure out on your own? Surely you figured something out."
Hades looks at her, “All we know is that his ex obviously did something to him…and by something…I mean a lot…he’s never been the same…no matter how hard we try…he refuses to tell us anything at all…”
"Why didn't you stop it?" She asked. "If you knew something was happening why didn't you step in?" She would never stand aside while watching someone she knew get hurt.
Hades sighs, “We didn’t know until it was too late…he kept it a secret from us…he hid it so well…” He frowns.
She matched his frown. She supposed She understood that. People were good at hiding their pain.
Hades looks down, honestly looking hurt.
"He'll never be the same."
Hades nods, “I already know…”
"But it can get better." She had to have hope. They all had to. "We can't give up."
Hades and Persephone nod.
She went quiet then, hands in her lap, waiting for dinner to show.
Soon, dinner is served, and Hades and Persephone eat, quiet.
Ariella ate in silence. She pushed her food around more than she really ate. The turn of the conversation had left her without an appetite.
Hades sighs, “I…tried to find him…but…he disappeared…”
She looked up from her plate, looking at him. "Then you're not looking in the right place."
Hades nods, “I know…I…don’t know where to look…”
"Then let me. I have resources you do not." She left it at that and took another bite of her food.
Hades nods, finishing his food and standing.
Persephone looks at him, then follows. “Goodbye, dear…”
She murmured a soft goodbye before finishing her food alone. As the maid took her plate away, she stood and walked to Amyntas room, slipping through the door.
