Ember sat up slightly "yeah exactly I just gave birth the hard part if over I'm fine! " she wasn't fine just stubborn as fuck she didn't want to go to sleep she wanted to hold her babies and keep them safe, she nodded slightly and handed Nathaniel their little girl as she took their son she cradled him close to her and closed her eyes
Nathaniel giggled at her defiance. “You need some rest. You just gave birth. The hard part may be over, but it took all your energy.” He held his daughter close to his chest, watching her move slowly. It was cute. He turned to look at Ember, noting how peaceful she looked. He placed their baby girl in the crib. He took their little boy from her arms and placed him in the bassinet. Nathaniel lifted Ember and tore off the sheets, replacing them with new. He dressed Ember in new clothes, placing her back on the bed. He crawled into bed next to her. “Our babies will alert us if they need something. You need sleep, Ember.”
"But- what if something happens? I don't wanna miss it. " she was really in between wanting to sleep forever and never wanting to sleep, she whined when he took their son away from her and brought her arms closer to herself she yelped when Nathaniel picked her up she felt as if she were about to cry but that was just hormones she buried her face in his chest and breathed Softly she was being quite complaint she whined when she changed her out of embarrassment she looked up at him when he laid her back down and huffed
Nathaniel rubbed her back. “Nothing will happen, I swear. Just get some rest, sweetie pie.” He crawled into bed next to her, keeping an eye on the babies. “Don’t huff at me, it’s for the good of your health.” He ran his fingers through her shiny hair. “You just gave birth after all.” Nathaniel kissed her upon the head, cuddling her. He closed his eyes, thinking about the future.
Ember nuzzled against him and sighed "I can huff if I wish too dear" she smiled a little and yawned closing her eyes, before finally drifting off to sleep she was exhausted and wanted to stay awake but she wasn't able
Nathaniel put his finger to his lips, the other side twisted from his burn scars. He wondered if their babies around cry when their eyes landed on his face. Children couldn't comprehend the twisted mess the left side of his face was. "Shhh, go to sleep, Ember. You'll feel rested, and then you can officially name the kids." They had agreed on a girl's name: Roselyn. But, on the other hand, they hadn't anticipated a boy as well. Nathaniel didn't think Ember had named their little boy yet. He brushed her cheek, his arms around her. Little kids that were— more than half demon— were going to be a handful. Let alone two.
Ember nestled into Nathaniel's hold, he made her feel save and warm she smiled softly when he brushed her cheek, it was true that she hadn't named the little boy yet but she hadn't expected him to even be born.. So it was a shock to her she somehow thought Nathaniel would be upset that there was another child but she knew he wasn't she was in fact frightened of her kids safety and how they would protect two children
Nathaniel, on the other hand, could not sleep. He was concerned about surprise visits or one of the babies being in distress. He was thinking about boy names, but none of them fit. Not for the little guy. Perseus, Samuel, Phoenix? They all sounded off. Maybe Phoenix was a better fit, but it was best to consult Ember first. Two children. He still couldn't believe it. He wasn't mad, but more… surprised. Nathaniel wanted two, but was not imagining having them at the same time. He looked over at the sleeping babies, twitching as if he anticipated one of them to cry at any moment.
Ember eventually woke up about a half an hour later, she had a headache from hell she raised her head slightly and winced "fuck.. Nathaniel, the children are they okay?"
Nathaniel blinked. He’d been staring into nothing. Turning his attention to Ember, he coddled her and ran his fingers through her hair. “They’re okay. Neither have cried yet. Do not fret, love.” He gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, carefully pulling her closer. “Though, they might need to eat soon.”
Ember looked over at them and her expression softened and she looked to Nathaniel "dear… I don't know how to feed them, what do I do?"
Nathaniel looked over at the two before looking at Ember. It took him a second to process her words, but when he did, he went red. “Uhhh, don’t they teach— wait no, you never went to school.” He paused look at her. “Uhh, just like every other mammal is a way of putting it.” Nathaniel didn’t know— well he did, but he didn’t know how to explain it.
Wait…… They have to…. on these?! " she was whispering but yelling at the same time and it was quite funny how she didn't realize what she had to do sooner, she sat up and looked down at her chest and then back up at Nathaniel hoping he would correct her, hopping she was wrong
Nathaniel’s eyes went wide eyed, clenching his teeth together. He laughed nervously, but turned into a cough. An 'oh boy' cough. “Uhhh, you see. Yes, yes they do. Glad those mama instincts are kicking in because I don’t know shit on how to nurse a baby.” He sat on the bed criss-cross applesauce, his hands in his lap. The baby girl started to cry, and any parent would know that as a hunger cry. “I could try to help… but this is not my jurisdiction.” Nathaniel slipped out of the bed and walked over to the crib. He picked up the girl, went back over to the bed, and gave her to Ember. He went back to pick up the baby boy and cradled him. Nathaniel sat back on the bed, staring at Ember.
Ember's face when red when he answered her, she looked at the child and back at her husband seeming to be a little frightened but more nervous than anything "i- would you please help me I don't know what to do.."
Nathaniel pursed his lips, staring at Ember. What was he supposed to do? "Errrr, I don't know how to help.." He held their son staring at him. The cries of his daughter sent him into distress, and he swallowed hard. "Why don't you try to do it yourself first? Then we can summon Lilith, yes?" A plumage of black feather fell around him, and his black wings appeared. The little boy opened his eyes and stared at Nathaniel. "You look like a Perseus." He whispered.
(Ah sorry?)
Um… I mean I suppose that could work but….. Would you have to leave or stay? "
Nathaniel bit his lip. Children were already stressing him out. Their little boy blinked at him, trying to get a read on his father's distorted face. "I wouldn't leave. You need me, don't you? So, I wouldn't let a certain demon kick me out." His wings fluttered between folded and open, almost like a version of rocking back and forth.
She nodded as she looked up at Nathaniel "ill need our son so I can feed him dear.."
Nathaniel hesitated. He didn't really want to hand him over, but he knew he had to. He handed over the child to Ember. "What will we name them? They need names, sweetie."
"well.." she spoke quietly as she reached for their son and she took him in her arms lightly pressing their foreheads together "we already picked a name for our daughter… But he was unexpected…. I'm not really sure."
“I like the name perseus. How about you? Do you like it, Ember?” Nathaniel kissed her on the forehead. “Or do you like something else?” His wings fluttered in excitement and their little boy moved slightly, mocking his dad’s movements.
Ember nodded and smiled "perseus is a lovely name dear.. "
That happened nearly 4 years ago the twins are now young children, and ember had developed a healthy eating habit and was no longer malnourished she had more of an hour glass figure now. Nathaniel was in his study as ember brought the kids out to a garden area that she had the servants make, she was sitting with one of the maids talking when she suddenly got a sharp headache she clenched her head and excused herself leaving the children with the woman as she made her way to her room it too her nearly ten minutes to get to her door as she stumbled inside with her hands on her temples

Nathaniel was in his study, writing away in a journal. Perseus was in the study with his father, rocking back and forth on his toes. He recently turned four and was already displaying great power. Nathaniel acknowledged his son, picking up the child and placing him in his lap. He wrote a letter to his kids in case anything happened to him. Percy played with the feathers on his growing wings, preening himself gently. Nathaniel ruffled the boy's blond hair and dotted the sentence in his journal.
Azazel shuffled into Ember and Nathaniel's room. He stood in the doorway, watching Ember curl upon herself. He moved into the room, sitting on the edge of the bed. She would probably think it was her husband than him. He placed a hand on Ember's back, soothing the devil's wife calmly. He pulled her closer to him. "Why must you be upset? Is something bothering you?" He raised an eyebrow, his purple eyes glowing in the dimly lit room. He wasn't great at mimicking voices and that would get him in trouble.
