(Sorry y'all, I went grocery-ing)
Rio flinched and stood up straight, looking at the guard with an uninterested gaze. "I was exploring the palace and decided to take a small break before going into my room." He spoke in an even tone. His years in the guild had taught him how to lie perfectly before he learned how to wield a sword.
Arien sat next to Ryn, simply allowing himself to relax. He smiled gently, leaning against the headboard a little. He was content to sit here in silence with Ryn. Honestly, Ryn was some of the best company Arien had kept in years. And… It was nice to have his mind off the war for a bit.
"Well, I would suggest heading to your room. It's night, so the king could call you in at any time for your… Services." The guard snickered a little, then started to walk away. "Or, you could just head in now and save your master the trouble, oh concubine."
If there was one thing Rio didn't like, it was being ridiculed. He growled lowly before briskly walking up to the guard, grabbing his shoulder, and flipping him over his shoulder and onto the ground. "I may a concubine, but I am and will stay beside the king until I choose not to. Watch who you're speaking to unless you would rather loose an arm or leg." He growled at him and jumped over him before walking into his room.
The guard was more than a bit scared when Rio jumped him, nodding quickly. He got up and scrambled away. Rio's room was a simple one, obviously not designed for complete comfort. He was just a concubine, after all. And Run had already managed to snag a bed in the king's room.
Rio flopped onto a bed and groaned. At least the bed was far more comfortable than the one he had a home, this one had a feather stuffed mattress while his mattress was soft grass and hay covered with a thick sheet. Extremely warm, didn't smell good, and he had many animals in his house. Rio felt that he should explore the room before sleeping so he looked around to see if there was a wardrobe with a change of clothes.
(Gtg shower)
(Alrighty!)
There was, between the bed Rio had claimed and another. There was enough space in the room for a total of five concubines- the king's favorites, if there were more than that. The wardrobe contained several sets of clothes, similar to the ones he wore now.
Rio groaned and changed into a pair of clothes that he thought were a bit more comfortable than the ones he had on before. After changing, he threw on his cloak and decided to go for a walk on the garden before sleeping.
Ryn slowly fell asleep, unable to keep his exhaustion a secret any longer. He dozed off, leaning to the side with his head hung low. His chest fell into a normal rhythmic pattern, and his face finally looked perfectly content.
(sorry for the delay! I was running a dnd night lol)
The garden large, but there wasn't anyone else present at the moment. Which was good, seeing as Rio's cloak made him look like an intruder. The moonlight lit everything gently, the flowers swaying a little with the breeze. It was very calming indeed.
Arien looked over, unable to help a gentle smile. He slipped off the bed, moving over to Ryn's side of the bed. He gently reached out, moving Ryn so he was laying down, tucking him into the blankets. Arien let out a soft hum, finally stepping away. Ryn looked content now, and it made Arien feel good to see that. He carefully walked away, standing over his war table.
(that's okay mate! It sounds like a lot of fun!)
(I’m gonna say Ryn’s asleep for a little while, so for now I’ll let you and Stark play it out before I jump in again, if that’s alright)
( that's okie, there might not be a lot of rping left until the next morning)
( Then yeah, I’ll most likely wait for the timeskip, if we have one, or if some other situation arises)
(Sorry, I got busy with life)
Rio took a deep breath, the scent of all the flowers was enchanting. He walked around a bit before finding a bench and settling into it, leaning into the tree it was supported by. He took off the cloak and threw it onto the bench before sitting up and doing a few stretches.
It had been a while since his last training session and he was in a new place where no one could disturb him. He started humming an old song while doing some easy stretches, pleased with the fact that he was still as flexible as when he left the guild.
(That's understandable! Life comes before roleplaying!)
(And do you want to have someone come across Rio, or could we do a timeskip now?)
(I'm fine with whatever you choose lol)
(hm, I think a time skip after this post would be best so everyone can get back to role playing)
Arien poured over his table, but his mind was too distracted now. Perhaps that had been the point of him being pressured into getting concubines- for him to be distracted from the war, and that he would have to rely on the advisors more. Thankfully, Ari we n knew Rio could help him with strategy, and Ryn… Well, Arien knew he could turn to Ryn whenever he needed to.
Arien stepped back from the table, making his way out to the balcony. He looked down at the gardens, spotting Rio. He smiled gently, staying out of sight to keep from disrupting Rio as he watched, long into the night.
( alright, then who should start off after the skip?)
(well since we're the only ones on right now, I could if you want me to, or we could just individually have our characters wake up)
( it’s really up to you, honestly)
(hnnnn making choices is hardddd XD)
Arien laid sleeping in his bed, forgoing a pillow for his arm. He didn't know what time last night he had finally dragged himself over to collapse on the soft mattress, but he knew he hadn't gotten enough sleep.
Arien slowly opened his eyes not moving yet. He knew he had to get up, he had responsibilities to take care of, but for now, he'd stay in bed. Besides, if he got up he might end up waking Ryn up. He wondered quietly to himself when Rio had returned to his own room, is at all last night. He just didn't know.
Ryn, contrary to Arien’s belief, was already awake, sitting up with a pillow clenched tightly to his chest. He sat, legs criss-crossed, arms wrapped around the pillow and hands fiddling with the soft fabric. Sure, it seemed childish, but it had been a long time since he had this comfort. He wanted to savor it.
The previous day was still fuzzy to him, like it had been a dream. In fact, he thought he was just going to wake up from his small nap in the market this morning, then begin trudging to the next city. Fortunately for him, it had all been truth.
Ryn kept uncannily quiet, trying his absolute best not to wake Arien.
(I'm.here but I'll have more time when I got out for a walk in a bit)
(Okay!)
Arien glanced up, smiling softly when he saw that Ryn was awake. He sat up himself, covering a yawn.
"Good morning," Arien said, smiling a little still. Ryn was absolutely adorable with the way he was sitting. Arien crossed his legs as well, most so Ryn saw.
"Did you sleep well? We could get more pillows if you didn't. Or if you just want some."
