"You kinda just walked straight into that trap. It was the smell of cupcakes, obviously. What are your favorite deserts?" She asked, stepping towards him with a mumbled 'here, let me-'. Reaching up, she adjusted a couple runaway bits of hair, nose wrinkled in concentration, before stepping back again. "I'm partial to little hand pies, when I'm feeling good enough to eat them."
“I love cheesecake. I would die for cheesecake. Especially strawberry cheesecake.” He beamed at just the thought of cheesecake, looking at her with a grin.
He bent down slightly to give her more room, thanking her softly when he felt the stray hairs return to their places.
“I’ve never had little hand pies. Are they just small pies?”
"Cheesecake is good, I'll have to make you some." She said, doing a little shimmy to the other side of the kitchen to pluck a hairtie off the table. "They are, yeah. Little pies that you just pick up and eat. Empanadas are the most common form, a lot better to eat quick. I like the pies because they're really easy to make low carb, as opposed to most desserts. You seriously haven't had them?"
“No, never.” He shook his head at her question, scratching at the scales on his neck. He blinked as one came lose against his fingers, pulling it down and glaring at it.
“And so the month of hell begins.” He growled, offering her the scale as he scratched at the spot it had just left. He was bleeding slightly but it wasn’t noticeable so he didn’t mind it. “Here, I’ll give you this if you’ll make me one of those pies.”
Mitsune let out a laugh at the look on his face, pulling the hairtie onto her wrist to fiddle with. "I'll gladly make you one of the pies. In fact, while we're out, we can even stop somewhere to buy some. That way you can try home made and food truck made." She suggested, gently taking the scale from him and looking it over with a smile.
When her eyes caught the blood, though, she frowned, searching for a napkin and holding it up to the spot on his neck. She paused for a second, before pressing it to his neck, nose wrinkled again. "You bleed when they come loose?"
“I would love that. Pies sound amazing. I haven’t had a good pie in ages! Pies are expensive. If I buy pies then I can’t pay rent!” He chuckled at that, finding it funny even if the other didn’t.
He flinched at first, surprised by the sudden touch but he soon relaxed. Cole let her press the napkin to the spot, leaning down slightly so she could reach better.
“Sometimes. Only when the scales that aren’t ready to come out are pulled out. When I scratch them they come lose. Hurts like a bugger if you get one that’s reaally not ready to come out. It’s like skin, hurts when you pull off skin that isn’t dead but feels kinda better when you get rid of the dead stuff.”
