gotcha! she'll come up a bit later, not too long but like. she won't be there immediately.
oH. also idk if i mentioned it on the sheet, but she's also a necromancer. like, she inherited both of her parent's abilities, though she's more familiar with the stormbringing, and each is activated by different emotions even when she tries to control them. she can summon either, but the emotions make them volatile. also. lightning skeletons
I'm back
Also, I love it. How're we gonna start this bad boy?
Well, we need a when. Have they been friends a while already, the group? Are they kind of split group wise but something brings them together? Is one of them already a part of the group?
Hmm. I'm thinking maybe the group has already been formed, Avery has been part of it for maybe a week? And your girl is just stumbling upon it
Oooo I like. Do you want me to start, or do you want to? The world is completely undeveloped beyond a map I have, so dw abt that
I’ll also be leaving around four for a longe while
four for me, or for you?
And, if you'd be so kind, could you start it? You know all the characters better than I do, even if they aren't developed, and the world as well.
four for me lmao
and yeah, i gotchu. what kind of thing should bring them together with Amira? she could. blow up something bcs she's good at that. or maybe mikhail just scares the shit out of one of them
I say she blows something up and it ends up in their favor. Maybe they're on a heist and she inadvertently helps them get an edge.
gotcha gotcha gotcha. i'll get that up before i have to go
okay
"Hurry up, you slow ass slackers." Safira hissed over her shoulder at the two men that were supposed to be keeping up with her. Even with a baby strapped to her back, the woman was way ahead of them. Granted, Chrys was huge and not built for sneaking, but that didn't excuse Avery in her mind. He was smaller than she was, and to the former prostitute, that meant he should at least be able to move quietly a bit faster.
Her sharp dark blue eyes glinted even in the darkness, a matching smaller pair peering over her shoulder occasionally, usually accompanied by a small giggle or chirp from Esmerelda, her daughter. "We don't have any sort of distraction. So we need to rely on stealth for getting in and out with the jewels, which means you two either need to suddenly become prodigies, or-"
A loud noise cut her off, followed by a chunk of the building about twenty feet from them crashing into the ground. The wall was blown to bits, debris scattering around the ground as the ringing from the explosion lingered. A snort turned into slightly muffled laughter, coming from somewhere in the shadows of another building, it's owner hard to see despite the gold lining her clothing, like she was naturally used to blending into the shadows.
Avery huffed and hiked up his boy, adjusting the string so it wasn't slipping off of his shoulder. "Chrys is distracting me," he defended, then shot a cheeky grin at the much bigger man next to him. While he had felt incredibly intimidated when he first met Chrys, as he was just like his brothers and father—much larger and muscular—he had grown to like him and consider him a friend. In fact, most of these outcasts he considered as friends. He just fits with them.
An explosion rocked through the world and knocked him off his feet. He swore like a sailor and covered his head when he peaked up to see a chuck of a building flying towards them. When all seemed to settle, he risked looking up again. "Well… I think we have our distraction," he said helpfully, then tilting his head when he heard laughter.
"You bet your ass we do." Safira's surprise didn't show itself on her face, and one might think she had expected it, with how quickly and easily she adapted. Undoing the wrap that held Esmerelda, she handed over her daughter to Avery, eyes flashing for a moment. "Anything happens to her, it's your head. Chrys, you're with me. Go introduce yourself, Lynk, meet the person who just gave us the upper hand." With that, she disappeared down the side of the building opposite the hole in the wall, Chrys following. The big man waved at Avery with a shrug before he disappeared too, leaving Avery with a suddenly quiet baby and the woman still laughing her ass off.
You messed up the formula again. It was supposed to incinerate, not blow. And that was what had Amira laughing. Out here, on her own, she'd found she didn't have to fear her mistakes. She could make them and learn from them, and more importantly, make a lot of them. And usually, those mistakes led to some fun things. On occasion, her ass in jail, but that was beside the point. As her laughter died down a bit, she swept her short and currently messy hair back from her face, too-intelligent eyes sweeping the damage she had caused. She had yet to become aware of the thieves she'd just helped out, or the one left behind to approach her, still riding the high of destruction.
Avery blinked as he mutely took the child from Safira, then blinked some more as they left, and he was left with a strangely quiet kid and a maniac woman. "Oookay?" he said, blinking yet again before transferring the kid to his elbow and holding her with one arm while heading over to the laughing woman.
"Hi, hello," he called, keeping his distance but also keeping his body angled so his knife-armed hand was facing the woman and the baby was behind said knife and out of the way of the woman, should she prove hostile.
Dark eyes snapped to the man approaching her as soon as he spoke, sweeping up and down once. He was a threat, sure, that much was obvious. But Amira was easily underestimated just because of her size and minor fragility. Fragile appearance, at least. "Hello, hi?" She greeted in return, tilting her head and lazily tapping a foot. Her hands were fiddling with a spool of wire, a few rings catching the light as well. None of them were her own. She stole them, and kept them on her to barter and sell whenever she needed cash or a ride. The system wasn't flawless, but it worked. Usually. "What are you doing out so late? These streets aren't very nice, you know. And they definitely aren't nice to younger ones. What's her name?" Her words came out choppy, whether because of the fact that this wasn't her first language, or just because her brain moved to fast for her words, was unknown. Even to her.
The runaway crouched, which wasn't quite necessary, meeting Esmerelda's eyes and making a face at her. Esmerelda, who was quiet almost always except when with her mother, gurgled happily, giggling and reaching for Amira's face.
Avery blinked when the child started making noises, then snapped back into reality. He turned his body away some more, taking a slight step back from this madwoman. "Not mine," he replied, then nodded towards the main center of the explosion the woman had created. "I just wanted to thank you on behalf of my mates. Really appreciate your involuntary help." He added a slightly mischievous smirk, which ended up looking more dorky than mischievous. It wasn't exactly his fault, what with his soft red curls, freckles, dimples, and short stature. He used his free hand to adjust the eyepatch over his one eye, making sure it wasn't in any danger of falling off. "Uh, yeah, that's all I wanted."
“Help?” Amira looked up at the stranger, hands shifting to sift through her pockets and pouches without much reason to them. “Oh! I guess that means we were hitting the same joint then, huh? Far as banks go, the security is pretty lax.” She mused, almost to herself as she straightened, pushing loose curls back from her face.
“Oh, don’t leave just yet. You have to wait for your friends, right?” Esmeralda babbled wordlessly, eyes fixated on Amira with fascination.
Avery bobbed his head side to side, lips twisting to the side. "Yeah, fair enough. I got stuck with baby duty." He lightly tickled the underside of Esmeralda's chin, steadily growing a little more at ease with this strange lady. She didn't strike him as all that bad, all things considered—and seeing how he was running with a band of bandits, he couldn't exactly judge too much.
"Baby duty seems like the best kind of duty, especially with one as pretty as you." It was like she was half talking to Avery, and half to Esmerelda. "You are a very pretty baby. You remind me of my sister, when she was born. Small and happy, and even now still stunning. Maybe you can tell me the secret." Esmerelda just giggled, both at Amira and at the tickling from Avery. "Oh! Pardon my manners." She looked up at Avery, lifting her bandaged hand in a wave. "Amani. It's nice to meet you."
