How do you recommend I shift from english to another language without confusing the reader and without constantly translating what I write?

It probably depends on a few factors.

• Which language are you writing in - is it a made-up language or an existing Earth language like French or German?
• Is it just one LOTE (Languages Other Than English) or more?
• How much is going to be written in LOTE?
• Do you want your reader to understand what is said in the LOTE?

you can actually make your own language in your book or illustration so people be more interested in the topic and the type of expressions your language makes it look, making a language is really fun and I have tried it myself and it is pretty fun but you have to explain our unique language. But it is only my opinion.
