I have a whole drawer full of the paper. I've got the square turtles memorized. Actually, one year in high school, I didn't understand Chemistry class at all, so I just kept making the teacher origami turtles and leaving them on his desk. He still has all of them. I did pass chemistry when I retook it the next year though. With the same teacher. So, of course he got more turtles…
I once filled my friend’s locker with origami cranes, that was fun. No one seems to know how to make them, there always like, “Wow that’s so cool can you teach me?” Then I show them then they’re like, “That’s so hard how do you do it?” It just comes natural to me I guess.
X) Nice. I've made some cranes before, but for some reason the only pattern that really sticks with me is turtles. I have books for other shapes though. And, I completely understand about the teaching people thing. A lot of the popular kids around school either wanted me to make them a little turtle friend or to teach them how to make one. So, it was people I wasn't even used to talking to, and I had to awkwardly sit there and show them how it works. I think the best part is that I have small hands, so small fingers, and then I make these really tiny turtles. And, everyone just goes "What even? How did you even?" Like, I've made them as small as the pink on my pinky nail, which is less than half a centimeter.
I have small hands as well XD I have the smallest hands in my grade, and I'm not even one of the shortest.
I like folding really big things too, its really fun lol
XD Yeah, the wrapping paper turtle was around Christmas time. It was a struggle, and my hands were sparkly afterwards.
I was looking through my origami drawer the other day, and I found paper for those tiny stars that you make a lot of to get a wish. I sat there and struggled for an hour and could not get one. I'm so frustrated.
I can't do those, I once tried for an hour and got close but gave up
There's two in the little box they came in, where my mom made a couple way back when she got it for me.
I can never find origami paper so I just make my own
XD I feel that. Some of the turtles I gave my teacher are made of index cards and candy wrappers.
I LOVE folding my gum wrappers
Yes! I've made little silver turtles, the thin paper ones, and then the wrappers from Hubba Bubba or Dubble Bubble. I like trying to center the symbol in the center of the turtle's back.
I’ve never made a turtle or a crane, but I can do dragons, ninja stars, wolves, hearts and butterflies. Those are the only ones I remember how to do. Also, where can you get paper only colored on one side? I just use whatever’s with me, but I’m curious.
I'm actually unsure. Sorry. I know it comes in kits sometimes.
Cool, I’ll keep an eye out for those!
