So like I know no one else who can knit or crochet except like a few old people. So if anyone can knit or crochet, I would love to talk.

I can knit, and I'm trying to learn how to crochet, but it's sooooo difficult.

Crochet is difficult?!?! i crochet, knitting is definitley harder

Idk, I've only tried a little, but I can't even do the most basic crochet techniques. The yarn always frays really badly, and then I rage quit. Knitting is tricky, and more involved and physically demanding from what I understand (also needle tips are really rough on the hands), but my aunt directly taught me how to do it, so that's probably why I can knit but not crochet.

That's cool, though. I really like how crochet fabric looks, and sometimes patterns will call for being able to knit and crochet, so I figured knowing basics would be important. Then again, I should probably get better at knitting first. I'm still trying to learn how to use double-pointed needles because I want to be able to make socks.

I can finger knit…does that count??

Oof. Luckily, I'm not that good, and I also don't have time. Besides, I have to use my own money for supplies, and let's just say I don't have a whole lot of that. I usually just knit christmas gifts for my closest friends.

I know right. like I'll make stuff for my best friends on their birthday and on christmas, but like you have to pay me or do something for me if you want me to make you something. Whenever I like bring it to school everyone's like 'make me a hat' or some other shit. It get so tiring having to listen to all those people.

my very first customer was my friend and she wanted me to crochet 7 lace sofa covers (for the seat) and I told that i wasn't that skilled and I could make a thicker lace thiing with size 2 or 3 yarn. she asked how much i'd charge her and I said $150-$200 and she refused saying that its too expensive and that her mom would buy them from somewhere. that made me so depressed for like 3 days

get your self a clip board, say heres my charge amount (make it appropriate for the size, materials, and time) and have people write down their name, when they will pay you, sizing, etc. and then you get paid before you give it to them and boom your in business. if you want something from me with out my wanting to make it for a present anyway, you gotta pay me

thats actually an awesome idea! but charging someone $150 for seven seat covers about 3ft wide is reasonable considering i would use my own materials?

yes absolutly, thats about 20 per cover, plus 10 extra for your time
