Any other flower pressers out there, would LOVE advice/craft ideas, what works, what doesn't; I'm new to it but I love it.

I know this is an old post, but I figured I'd help anyway. I haven't done flower pressing in a while, but I remember a few tips:
Also, one cool intro project that might be cool is a pressed flower bookmark with your favorite flowers, some thick cardstock, and maybe a ribbon or string. After the press, decorate it however you want!
And the most important tip: have fun! Flower pressing is a creative and relaxing hobby, so have fun and enjoy the process! You can experiment with different flowers, colors, and arrangements to find your favorite way to express your creativity, and make awesome homemade gifts for friends and family along the way.
Heyo! Really appreciate the tips, I actually totally forgot abt this post but glad you commented!
I've started using pressed flowers in resin and am now experimenting with that, still trying new things and very excited for the next growing season :)
This chat is kind of dead, but I make flower presses and sell them on occasion and they're super fun because I make small ones that I throw in my backpack while traveling and I don't have to worry about ruining books or them falling out. Also, One thing I want to try is drying them in silica beads because I've heard that that works really well too
OOH silica works really well from what I've done :)
I'm hoping to sell every now and then
where do you get the silica beads?
No idea, I got them as a gift
You could probably find them at a hobby shop like Michaels or hobby lobby, tbh
Or amazon
I love flower-pressing! I store the flowers in my diary
Aw nice!
I just got into doing like wax seals and I sometimes put them into the hot wax before I press it
ooh that sounds super cool! what do you do with the seals afterwards?
I usually send them as letters to my aunt or my friend who both live really far away. I want to get some clear wax so you can see the flowers better though. (P.S. if you want to get one, I will 100% happily send you one, just pm me your address. Also, I want pen pals and tend to go overboard with letters)
Ooh tbh i will take you up on that offer! wanna take this to DMs then? I'd love to be pen pals as well!)
IM SO EXCITED FOR MY GARDEN, IMMA HAVE SO MANY FLOWERS
AND STRAWBERRIES
I LOVE STRAWBERRIES
yeah? what type of flowers do you have?
I have a daisy plant I'm trying to keep alive (it's from my neighbor and she just gave it to me cos they're my fav and I am so scared of it dying before I can plant it)
I also grow geraniums and sunflowers, gonna hopefully get a lilac bush this year. Nasturtiums are cool and basically whatever I can find :)
oh that's so cool! i hope you have a good batch this year!
thanks! me too :)
literally, my neighbor (she's around my grandma's age) heard that I love daisies and she was getting rid of some of her plants so she gave me one- she's so sweet, I love her
I'm honestly excited for those and the strawberries more than anything XD
that's so kind! and what type of strawberries are they - the small natural types or the humongous ones?
Uh… smaller but really sweet
Idk variety lol
It’s okay. They sound really good though - do you have enough to make a pie or smth?
Not so far, I just started growing them last year and between 2 small plants I got like 2 or 3 a week but I’m hoping to have more this year- I want to share w my grandma, she loves them too :)
