I dunno, I don't like asking my Mum for things and besides, she'd done so much for my birthday already, even though it isn't even my birthday yet. She brought me a flight to go see my best friend and she brought my tickets for a musical play on the Christmas Carol, because I couldn't afford it but wanted to go. And I think my brother accidentally let out, there's some other surprise as well.

Yeah, I get that it's hard to ask people for stuff. Maybe you could save up for one or something. I hope you figure something out!

Well, both of my grandma's give me $15-20 dollars each birthday and christmas, so if I force myself not to spend it on sweets, I should have enough to buy a good bow. Thinking about it now, I don't know why I don't have a bow yet. I think it's because we sometimes go out to dinner and that's like $20 gone in one go.
So yay! Maybe I'll have a bow by the new year.

That would be great! I've heard that good bows are expensive, but the best way to get something you want is to save up for it. ;) ~Jak

Well, I don't have to worry about it anymore. I didn't get any money from them this year. Both haven't been particularly well lately and forgot. But I don't mind. I just hope they get better soon.

Problem is that, I'm just as fond of art as I am of archery, so if I got money, it would be a hard struggle on which to spend it.

Do what I do. Don’t even touch the money. Have your parents put it straight into a savings account or have them hold onto it for you in some way.

@Elder-God-Whisper work

(It’s how I’ve saved up $385 and counting.)

Nice.
Sometimes I go to Barnes & Noble and find that there's a hole burning in my pocket. Tip: Don't do that. ;)

(MEEEEEEE!!!! lol)

@shattered_heart

I have a savings account with like $10 in it. Woo hoo!
But seriously, how did you end up with that whopping amount? Did you like save for years or do you get pocket money? Or unlike me, are you a non-lazy person who did chores to earn money?

@Elder-God-Whisper work

(I breed and sell rabbits. And that's what I've saved up from sales after paying my mom back for getting me started. I'm working on breeding angora rabbits now. I'm gonna spin and sell the yarn as soon as my mom has time to teach me how to use the spinning wheel.)

@shattered_heart

That is so awesome! Where I live, you aren't allowed to have rabbits, but I have always wanted one. We used to breed guinea pigs, but we usually ended up keeping more than we sold. But we only have the one male now.
My grandma sent me $20 dollars for my birthday, so I'm going to save that for a bow.

@Elder-God-Whisper work

lol. Don't tell my town, because technically, we aren't supposed to have rabbits or chickens either. If they knew we fluctuated between 70 to 120 at most, we'd be in major trouble.

Aww! Bunnies! <3

@shattered_heart

Chickens? Why can't you have chickens?
Haha, we had three dogs once when we were only supposed to have two. And also, we had a huge patch of banana trees. In our town you are only allowed half a dozen, but ours spread and no one bothered to cut them back. We are way over limit now. But honestly, what's the harm in banana trees?

@Jaq-wants-to-be-Christine language

(We have yet to have a problem with predators. I'm kinda surprised because we have hawks, coyotes, the whole sha-bang.)

Yup. You know, there's this series of books I've been reading for school (rather intense; not entirely recommended), and there are coyotes in them…but they're not normal coyotes. They talk. And they're not nearly as timid…shudder ~Jak

@shattered_heart

Oh yeah, that too. Chicken and horse feed is our issue. Luckily we have a Jack Russel Terrier. She is the gentlest friendliest dog I have ever met. But woe to any rat that crosses her path. She changes into a ferocious monster in an instant.
