I just want to see if I'm the only weirdo that enjoys running :)

I used to enjoy it immensely. I was on our Cross Country team for 2 years before injuring my knee in the beginning of 3rd year. I also love Soccer so, so much. I played on our Varsity team for 4 years. I did Track for only 1 year, but I ran both the 1600 m and the 3200 m. Running used to be my life blood.
But then, with the combination of my knee injury and my worsening asthma, I had to call it time to quit.
I do! Used to be a great runner! Still am for the most part! We had this option for P.E. called "Boot Camp", back in my first through third years of school, and it pushed our bodies to the limit, cardio was a big part of that little thing!
Yay! I'm not the only person! Sorry to hear about your injury Red, I can say that my legs are pretty strong and I haven't gotten any injuries yet (Probably just jinxed myself..) The boot camp thing sounds super cool! I wish our school did something like that.. Faint muttering about Wisconsin's public schools
Oof yaah, my legs are pretty damn powerful, and I know the secret to running faster too, so I'm good, but lately I've been getting a little out of shape. It's nothing a little bit of training can't fix. But it's annoying.
I like to run, but I dont have any stamina and I have weak lungs. So no actual running for me.
Oof, and on that note I just remembered I have a long run today for track. I need to build my speed up so that I'm faster, that's the one thing that I need to work on more than anything even though i'm relatively fast at the moment.
I can help you build up speed!
What's your usual running style?
Urm, start slow and go faster, just hope that I don't die in the the last mile? XD
I was looking like certain techniques, but cool.
Pacing yourself is the best thing to do, so props to you.
If you wanna get faster, the best thing you can do (for short-distance) is to slam your feet against the ground with each step for that extra propulsion. Keep your hands flat, don't clench them, it makes you more aerodynamic, every little bit helps.
I really have no techniques that I use consistently
I'll keep that advice in mind! I'm more of a distance runner though (CC races and the one and two miles in track are my favorite)
Same, honestly, but I try to be well rounded.
Basically, make your body like a set of pistons, hands and legs corresponding together to give you momentum.
That sounds smart :) I'll try to remember that in my next race :D
It's only good for short distance.
Oof alright, I'll still keep it in mind though
OK!
I had two techniques I merged into one that made me virtually an unstoppable running machine.
I took the Sprint Run and the Rough Terrain Run and alternated between the two. I would Spint on straight-aways and flat roads and I would use the Rough Terrain Run on corners and inclines.
I have a special run for downhill, which is where I spread my arms out for balance and left gravity take over my body; the only work I did was monitoring how not to fall as I sped down.
Fun Fact: This is how I usually pass up other runners on Cross Countey courses. That and my Power Walk I do on steep uphills.
Except now I can't do any of that without experiencing severe pain.
Ooh! Interesting!
I did track for three years but skipped out in it this year because the meets were just too stressful.
Yeah, meets are crazy; fun, but crazy
Hello runners
I am supposed to run 3 kilometers for school (for my grade ugh) today and even though I like running I still suck at it. When it comes to running I have really bad fitness, and I just wondered if any of you have any tips or hacks on how to make it easier?
