Finished chapter 7 (somehow it has ended up over 10,000 words long????). Am going to try and finish 1.5-2 chapters a week because I really want draft 1 done before the 1.5 year mark (I started writing this on Feb 27th 2023). So 3 down, 19 to go.

I'm back. I'm not dead I promise. I just got very distracted by an idea for another novel that I am temporarily shelving while I get the first draft of this one done so I can (fingers crossed) send it off to literary agents.

Meant to post this yesterday but the website was down for me. Chapter 6 is done!! Just in time to have seen Hozier in concert last night. The girl standing in front of me quit her job while the opening act was on, good for her. Thinking of combining chapters 8 + 9 but it will take some work.

Have opted to combine 8 + 9. Am just a hair shy of 70,000 words (the book is only half written lol). Chapter 8/9 is done.

A few more chapters are going to be combined I think, chapter 9/10 (which were previously 10/11) and maybe 13/14 or 14/15 although I'm a bit on the fence about those two. Not that I don't have anything for them, I'm just not sure how many "filler" chapters I want given how long this thing already is.

Have also been converting chapters to manuscript formatting and printing them once they're done so they're ready to go when draft 1 editing begins in late March/early April. The plan then being to rewrite the whole thing with the edits over Easter long weekend.
