Yo so this is a place to talk about/rant about/make fun of your old/oldest story/stories. What was the worst thing about it? The best? Why did you stop writing it? How long ago did you write it? Who were some of the characters?

Deleted user

Oh my word.
You have caused deep cringe in my soul, thinking about all of that.

Hahaha 😈 I've harbored a repulsed feeling toward my old stories and I've decided that other people should feel it too 😈

Angst alone cannot describe what I wanted for my very very old stories. Now it's all silly

I would summarize my terribly cringy work and tell yall you can't compete but it would take actual hours. just trust me when I say my attempts at psych horror were bad you have to trust me

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

My oldest story is a 2018 wattpad werewolf story. I think i have you all beat in cringiness

nooooooo mine was from 2010 or 2011 and it was awful. I haven't shown you this. I've read your werewolf wattpad stuff, and it's less cringe than my NOVEL LENGTH GARBAGE

WAIT YOUVE READ IT ALREADY?!?!?! WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME

@Imagine_Logic

My first (lengthy) story, which I wrote when I was like 11 or 12, was an atrocious Marvel fanfic where the main character was a secret daughter of Magneto, so she had his abilities, but also Wolverine's (somehow?) and got adopted by Wolverine when she was a teenager– because she got kidnapped from Magneto when she was a child and her memories had been wiped, and she had been experimented on, of course. Maybe that was how I said she'd gotten Wolverine's powers? I honestly can't remember. Also pretty sure she fell in love with Nightcrawler.

Technically I wrote many other stories when I was literally a small child, but they were all super short, and most of them were about animals going on little weirdly-written adventures. I've written for as long as I can remember. Not that all of it is worth remembering, per se.

@Morals-are-for-mortals language

My oldest story was when I was in I believe 4th or 5th grade, when I was very into Warrior Cats and dragons. (And, for reference, currently in 9th grade.)

“So,” my little child brain thought, “What if I combined the two?”

It was less of a crossover and more of a hybrid fantasy world. There were four clans that connected to the four elements. But instead of cats, it was dragons. Or well, cat-dragons. The main cast was four cat-dragons from each clan. I never got past writing their initial meeting. And I also know for a fact I had no idea where the story was going to go while writing it—I just really liked the idea of it.

Were they cat sized or dragon sized

Literally exactly the type of story I was thinking of when posting this. A++

Cat sized or slightly bigger.

@the-myth-echo group

Omg I literally refuse to look at the draft for this "book". basically: Fairies, elves, witches, and controlling government!! Ft. Queer People

Seems to me like it could contain the bones of a promising fantasy story.

(Unrelated to the topic- we share the name "Echo" and I think that is quite fun. But alternatively, we could both fight for the title.)

I wrote my first story with the help of my mum when I was about 4 years old in 2007. I explained the story to her and she wrote it out on the computer and printed it. I drew the illustrations in coloured pencil and crayon (which from memory were actually pretty good considering I was 4). She laminated it and I read it out as a part of show and tell during my first year at school. It was about 2 angels and their pet cats stopping a meteor from destroying the world (I was very into both dinosaurs and Barbie: Princess and the Pauper at the time). I lost the laminated copy of it when we moved house when I was 12 and am absolutely devastated that I no longer have it.
