Shoooo, I'm a little rusty XD I'm basically dusting off an old story I made when I was 7, modernizing it, and making it wayyy cooler. The general idea/plot of the story was amazing and I don't want to just leave it there. However, when writing before I would Role Play with my book characters ahead of time, getting to know them better and getting used to their feel, then I'd write. Only problem is, this story has a HUMONGOUS cast! When I say humongous I mean like, it beats Avengers Endgame cast-wise XD Everyone fits, but most of the characters are ones I haven't made myself super familiar with or know well. So, I don't want to shove them all into one RP or start a gazzilion RP's that would die after a week. I don't have that kinda time anyways. Does someone- anyone- have a suggestion?? I need to know my people before playing them, but it's going to be tough. I went ahead and started writing to see if I could just start and learn them on the way? But it ain't working XD PLEASE HELP. Even if you're not even really a writer, if you have an idea as to what might help, I would realllllllly appreciate it.

Hmmm, maybe try Q&A lists, use short writing prompts to figure out what your characters would do in all sorts of situations, and fill out in-depth character sheets. Then for more prominent characters or ones you're having a hard time figuring out, try RPing then. If I can help in any other way, just let me know!

I will try that. :D I’ve done in depth character sheets, since that’s just something I’ve always done, but I’ll give the others a try. Thank you!

@Moriarty

I feel your pain!!! I started roleplaying when I was about 13, and that's where the majority of my character's birthed from. They gained depths through the roleplays, and that made writing them so much easier! My suggestion is to pick a few of your favorites and start with them. It's going to be hard to do them all at once, but you can't have a billion important characters in the same book anyways without confusing the reader. You can have a bunch, but no reader can follow ten different characters having a conversation all at once. If you can't pick favorites, get a random will to pick for you. Then take those few character's, RP with them or try to flesh them out better. Once that's done, you can move on to some of your other characters! ^u^ I really hope this helps some way. Good luck! I bet your stories will be the snazziest.

Thank you so much! I’m kinda a character addict and have wayyyy too many characters in the one series XD but, I’ve successfully narrowed it down (finally). I have the main three in an RP right now and hopefully it’ll help em a bit D: fingers crossed!
