I need some help figuring out a new title for one of my books. Now, I already have a title, but it just isn’t quite matching up with what I want.
So, the current title is Goliathan. It’s book 2 (chronologically) of a trilogy describing the life of De’Tearion, an ex-warlord and a member of the Goliathan race. The other two books I’m calling The Rogue Chancellor (De’Tearion’s backstory) and Manirien’s Beetle (De’Tearion’s death, and the life of his son. Manirien is a Moon goddess in the books).
Now, I’m wanting to change Goliathan to something similar to the other two. The other two books reference titles/nicknames of De’Tearion and his son. But, I don’t know what would fit in place of Goliathan.
For context on the story of Goliathan, it describes De’Tearion’s search for his sister’s murderer, and, along with succeeding in his search, he also ends up finding the woman of his dreams. And, said woman also happens to be a princess, and later, a queen.
Potentially a nickname for Mileena? (making an assumption here) If De'Tearion and his son are the focus of the first and third books, even understanding that De'Tearion is the MC for the second one, it would make sense to use another name for the driving force of the book as the title. Or, if you feel Mileena isnt enough of the driving force, use a nickname for his sister. That would fit the criterion, i think?
(Mileena is right, lol). I had considered using a nickname for her, though it just didn’t seem to fit. Though, I hadn’t thought of his sister. That’s an intriguing idea.
But, I was considering The Chitin King. De’Tearion was called the Rogue Chancellor by his Forestfolk kin, but I never came up with a nickname for him as King Consort beside Mileena. It actually does seem fitting as a nickname, but I’m still debating if it’s fitting as a book title.
(Also, unrelated, if you want to get back to our rps, I’m willing to. I’m probably going to be slow, but nonetheless. Up to you, I’m casual either way)
'The Chitin King' is a good one :) Got a nice alliterative ring to it.
(And I'd be down, I think, tho I've been kinda swamped. only really been keeping up with one or two rp's. but i;m willing to give it a try if you dont mind me being slow)

It does fit pretty well. I just don’t know if there’s something missing, or if it has the right vibe, or if I’m just overthinking it at this point.
(I get it. I’ve only really been doing one rp at this point, lol. So, it’s no big deal. I’ll go ahead and bump them, so you can find them easier)
I kinda like that. You might be overthinking a bit. However, if I had one suggestion, it would be to make the last book title match the first two in its format. The Rogue Chancellor, The Chitin King, so then maybe something like The Manirienite Beetle. Just so it's all congruent. ?

Lol. Yeah, I was honestly wondering how to make them all match. ‘Manirienite’ actually sounds pretty good though.
