Literally I have like 8 started.
Literally I have like 8 started.
stories i have finished: 0
stories i need to finish: 6
why do i do this
Same though
it’s just,,,,, i have so many ideas!! and they’re so easy to start!!!! but tying a whole story together takes so loooong and it’s such a struggle
Yeah. Like I always get new ideas. So I start another thing. And then I never finish.
This is me. All the time. C o n s t a n t l y. I have over a dozen unfinished stories, both short stories and novellas/novels. I never get very far with them at all, I just start. Sometimes I only write two or three pages, and then it just sits around like that forever. The only things I've ever actually finished are short stories. But! I'm sticking with my current novel, and I'm determined to finish it!
My advice: write down your story ideas somewhere so you don't forget them, maybe write the little bit that's running circles in your head just to get it out of the way, and then move on and continue your main project. If there's a project you're invested in that you want to finish, it's worth shoving all those other little ideas aside.
I relate to this SO HARD
I need to work on like 5 different things, and i wanna start more
because apparently, i just want to stress myself
ya know, i'm constantly coming up with ideas i don't need. i usually will just jot them down somewhere and hope i don't forget about them. i probably have about 7 or 8 books i want to be written. my advice is to be patient.
I have like 15 notebooks filled with prompt ideas or dialogue. Am i the only one who either write pieces of stories that would be good but don't go together or write fanfiction for their own stories? One of the walls in my closet has a cork board that takes up the whole wall filled with drawing sampled of characters, clothing, and bits of the stories that I will never write. I have sketch books filled with room plans and faces. My friends make fun of me for printing out thirty different version of my story and I just don't have the heart to tell them that I prefer the feel of paper and hearing the pages rub together instead the clicking of a computer when reading.
Yeah. I've written fanfic for my own story. Only because I had no idea where I was going. Fanfic writing is actually a great way to improve your writing with a short story.
