Okay, DBT therapy (yes I'm a psych nerd whatever) has some interesting things to say about this! It focuses on "middle path" techniques, where both sides are neither right nor wrong but both have value, it's just how you go about conversing that matters. It is often used with Borderline Personality Disorder, suicide/depression, emotional regulation, and other self destructive behaviors. Maybe the moral is that everyone needs to play their part and destruction isn't the answer? Look into it, it's really neat and has a lot of themes in common with this lol.
