forum How should I go about writing romance without making it the main plot point?

I know I want to have my main character end up with one of my side characters but I also don't want their falling in love to be the main plot. I want most of the plot focused on their situation, not the romance but its still important to me that its there.

Keep romantic elements in certain chapters only. Don't include any romance in any important plot points or dramatic scenes. Keep it contained in mostly fluff chapters where nothing important really happens.
