In the story I'm working on, the MC crash lands on a planet that wasn't yet known of. She's discovered by natives who, of course, don't know her language and visa versa. Eventually, she does get to the point where she understands and speaks the language pretty good, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for writing this process of overcoming the language barrier. I'd have a translator in the mix, but it wouldn't be able to compute a alien language it has no reference on.
