There's this one story I've been trying to write for a number of years but I have barely gotten past the first chapter. I keep going back to rewrite it over and over and I'm not motivated to just continue from whatever I've written. Maybe it's because the beginning is boring?
So how do I spice up my writing more? Other things I write come more naturally to me but this one thing just doesn't work. I'm stuck and don't know what I'm doing. Some suggestions would help
Add some comedy to it maybe. You don't necessarily have to add a comedic relief character, but you can always add comedy as the writer/narrator.
True but I hesitate to do that because it's more of a dark, grim fantasy. I suppose I can include some lighter parts here and there. Thank you!
Np! But remember, as the writer everything you put in your book should be what you would want to read and what you want to put out there.
oh i used to have this problem a lot, i think it was because my writing wasn't at the level of the story i WANTED to write if that makes sense? I didnt have confidence in my writing which made actually writing + producing a comic a drag. what worked for me was plotting a ton of random ideas and using that as an exercise, so i could get better at characterization, worldbuilding, etc without having to commit to actually writing it. plus now i have a bunch of stories to write if i ever get bored
Sounds like a good idea actually
