"How… how does she know?" Lilly asked softly, raising an eyebrow. "None of us have seen her since we got back. She came back down with us. I never bothered trying to call her though." Lilly mumbled, tracing her fingers over her neck delicately. As of the last time she had gotten close to Jane, she had almost been killed.
"Jane came back for me" she said
"B-but how? We all thought you were dead. She thought you were dead." Lilly insisted, glancing over to Brad who looked terrified. "I-is there something you may have forgot to mention, to Brad?" Lilly asked under her breath, trying to be as quiet as she could be.
Caroline looked over at brad confusion on her face
"Jane went after you?" He asked, his voice low but not angry. Brad seemed more confused than anything. "I…I thought you told me everything that happened in Vegas?" He stated again, raising his brow while he chewed on his bottom lip.
"sort of Jane cane that she had a feeling that something wasn't right and she came back" she said
"That little-" Brad cut short as both Lucas and Anthony came in the bar. They seemed to be confused, even more so as everyone was starring at them when they came in. "Uh… hey?" Lucas said awkwardly, not having noticed Caroline.
Caroline looked at the two boys a small sad smile
A tight knot formed in Lucas's chest, as his jaw dropped just a bit. "I-Caro…Caroline?" He asked softly, walking through the group of people as he approached her. "N-no… this- this can't be true."
She looked at him sadly biting her bottom lip
"It's you, Caroline?" He asked weakly, Lilly stepping aside so he could see her better. Lucas took one look at her, before pulling her in to a hug. "How the heck are you still alive?"
"magic " she said sarcastically
Lucas rolled his eyes, pulling back to look at her. "Come on, it was a rhetorical question." He mumbled, cupping both of her cheeks in his hands. "I just don't normally see people back from the dead."
" eh well I have a best friend a sister and a boyfriend I kinda had to come back" she said
"Well, that works for me." Lucas hummed, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "How long have you not been dead? A week or so?" It was odd how casual he was being about the situation. It felt like he had been expecting this, of course that wasn't the case.
"Why didn't you call? Wasn't there a phone anywhere for you to use?" Lucas asked, raising a brow as he pulled back. Having to have telling everyone the same things a hundred times was probably getting frustrating, so Lucas stopped. "Actually, hold that thought. Wait until the others get here."
She whimpered at his tone everyone telling her the same things she backed moving Into a Booth
Lucas paused, following her as she went to sit in a booth. "Hey… what's wrong? Did I say something?" Lucas asked softly, resting one hand on her shoulder. "Or did I do something?"
She shut her eyes tightly tears streaming down her cheeks
"Hey, shhh…" Wiping her tears away, he tried to stay relaxed as a soft smile pulled on his lips. "Do you just want me to leave you alone? I can do that too, if you need it." Lucas whispered, glancing over his shoulder at a worried Brad. "A lot of us are worried about you."
She nodded putting her head down
"Alright, if that's what you want Corie." Lucas smiled softly, as he used one of his nicknames for her. "Though does everyone include your boyfriend? Because I think he wants to check on you."
She shrugged silently crying
Giving up trying to talk to her, Lucas stood up and walked off. As soon as he had, Brad approached her without a word. He crouched down in to a sitting position, resting his chin in her lap.
