I do. I just started in the last few months. I read a lot of articles, books, Tumblr posts, and consider astrology a hobby of mine. I use more astrological information than the general horoscope from magazine websites and random sites. I make birth charts for my charts. It's a lot to learn, but websites like cafeastrology.com give a basic, simplified report on birth charts, which all you need is their birthday and birthplace and if you want to really get deep into it, their birth time. :)
Yeah! Actually, the premise of the story I'm writing is based around that, so I'm using basically everything that I can find. I use websites that give the astrology information in a good amount of detail. I don't use all of it, but I like having the extra info just for kicks. :) One particular website I've been using to gather information for my story is astrology-zodiac-signs.com. Hope this helps!
I have been using astrology to flesh out characters for years. Lately I been using more advanced and esoteric types of astrology to get plot ideas, conflict, themes, etc for my characters. Like asteroids, midpoints, hypothetical planets, sensitive points, fixed stars, deep space objects, uranian astrology, Arabic parts and the like. By using these things it narrows down what I am looking for that I want to go into my stories. I recommend Astrology for Writers by Corrine Kenner and Astrocharacters by Judy Hall. And the gazzillion astrology books I own.
Of course. My character is all about the universe, space, stars, and all that. She is crazy about it and zodiac signs are coming to play right away.
That's really cool @WhimsicalWaterBuffalos
I'm actually thinking about making up my own "zodiac" for my story, because I love horoscopes and stuff like that, but I have a completely different calendar system that doesn't correlate to ours at all. So yeah, if I can get down to it and tackle this monster of a problem, then I'd totally do it.
That's way better than any of my ideas ^^^^^^
I usually use zodiac signs for the core nature of my characters, then I flesh them out from there. (I noticed I use an ungodly amount of water signs, though. Don't know why.) I also try to use it for romantic compatibility, wherever possible.
No but that could mostly be because I don't believe in them and when it comes to practical writing I personally find it to be a time waster or distracting. I focus more on CD itself, family, cultural aspects, hobbies and skills, and base personality why it was shaped that way ei: experiences like backstory stuff. If your interested in it though, a good place to get information on that subject could be the library and if not Barnes and Nobles has tons on neo pagan and horoscope stuff.
No but I do use https://www.archetypes.com/ <-I find it to be much more uselful
I like to figure out Western Zodiac and Chinese Zodiac signs for my characters, as well as blood types! Though I usually pick them based on the character's already existing personality, it can be fun and interesting to look at.
