I really enjoy my magic system. Magical energy is a kind of resource that can be used by honing your skills to wield it as other craftsmen might with metals or different materials. The energy is connected from leaks into our world that spilled in from another unknown reality. It's dangerous in large amounts and pure magic could easily kill a person exposed directly to it, so it's usually contained, best kept in crystals. All technology is powered by magic rather than other fuels and in the current time of my novel, it has recently begun to be thoroughly explored.
I also like my magic system. Basically Magic is so powerful that any being that has it in them will die (maybe with an exception here or there), so the gods blessed areas and certain items. People have learned how to use magic through these items and areas and stuff and yay and whoopdeedoo
I'm actually weirdly proud of the food/agricultural aspect of my world. Since it is a completely different planet and landscape, all of the crops, plants, and animals are very different from Earth. Creating new edible/unedible resources is difficult, but surprisingly fun! Since my protagonist's family works in the food industry, it is a big part of her history. She lives in a society where children inheriting their family business is the norm and pursuing her own interests instead of her family's is considered very abnormal. This means I can have fun creating new plants and animals that not only work with her family's business, but also match the landscape, weather, and atmosphere of the planet i'm creating. It is actually the most detailed I have ever gotten with world building!
I like how all of the settings are very spunky, like if the general sitting in my story was a person, they would be very angsty and energetic and colorful.
My favorite aspect of the universe I'm creating is I can finally keep all of my ideas right in one place with an intricate system in place to fit and use all of them the way I want to use them. I get to experiment with so many different genres and characters and plots with an overarching plan I never quite reveal to my readers. I want to show them. Tease them with everything I have and then withholding right at the end to leave it for them to interpret. I absolutely love this flexible system I have created, it allows me so much more freedom and creativity.
I am obsessed with systems and logistics.
I'm not a very good writer. I don't really enjoy creating characters. I couldn't tell a story even if my life were on the line, but I can explain how mail gets around and how governments work.
Also, I enjoy creating fantasy creatures because the creatures don't have to make any biological sense.
I'm almost the opposite, but it sounds like you would be goo at critique and helpful building governments
