@Lord_Hellstrande

I have quite a few were-beasts; wolf, cat, raven, shark, boar, bear, tiger, rat, and bat. Each has animal form, a human form, and a hybrid form. Two were-beasts (wolf, rat, and bat) are dire versions of the normal animal. The were-cat does not have a hybrid form but can shift from human into a normal sized cat. All hybrid forms are just how a human would look with features from that animal, mostly physical features, and gains most of the natural weapons that creature has; claws, teeth, tusks, etc. Were-sharks, in hybrid form, can walk on land without any repercussions but do have a natural instinct to go into areas of salt water

One of my series has therianthropes, but they're not like the conventional kind. The main two we see are werewolves and werecats.

Werewolves have the ability to take human form, wolf form, and anything in between including several hybrid forms. On top of that they have vastly superhuman mental and physical attributes and they also have top-notch psychic powers.

Werecats have a human form and an animal form, as well as vast psychic powers and control over one or more elements.

Like I said, totally unconventional.

I don't have any in my story yet, since it's still heavily a WIP – However, I'm considering letting those heavily in touch with the shadow element be able to take differing forms by means of a dark goopy-like substance. Their elemental allegiance is based heavily on secrecy, spying, and deception – I think that this would fit well, and help them to spy using different forms or simply melting into the shadows. Otherwise, the rest of the races tend to stick to dragons or humans.

On this topic though, there's this really interesting concept that fits this subject perfectly – In the Book Seraphina (ShadowScale series I think) Dragons are intensely hated by most humans, so they attempt to disguise themselves as humans in a form they call a Saarantrai (It's really interesting, I suggest checking it out :D)

You all have some really interesting ideas! Have a nice day :)

My werebeasts are different depending on the story.
In my novel, there are werecats, werefoxes, wereraccoons, werebirds, werefish, werebugs and weredragons. The leaders of the weretribes are stronger than the rest of their species. The weredragons are the most powerful of the werebeasts, and the Great Dragon is the most powerful being in the world. The werebeasts can use one of eight elements; Fire, Thunder, Ice, Earth, Water, Sky, Dark, and Light. Do you think there should be more of them, the beasts and the elements?

My fanfic's shapeshifters are talked about in https://www.notebook.ai/forum/characters/dragons, https://www.notebook.ai/forum/characters/demons, and https://www.notebook.ai/forum/characters/ferality. If you want more about these misunderstood guys, you can tell me!
