Yeah sure! Mine is about a detective who solves crazy murders!
Mine is about three chosen warriors having to kill all seven deities in their world to stop the apocalypse
@hyliamalice sounds interesting. Seven deities?
Mine is still a bit wonky in the making, but its a dystopian setting, like humanity at its brink.
basically, although it's difficult to explain, there's seven gods/goddesses responsible for most of creation. there's the three goddesses that are the main trio; and the eldest sister got power hungry and wanted to rule all the gods on her own and not with her sisters. the youngest sister got angry over it and they fought, killing the second when she tried to stand between them. after this the guilt got to the eldest sister and she started leading like a tyrant, beginning to cause the apocalypse so she could start creation again fresh. (she hoped to revive her sister this way, though she was delusional and didn't realise it was impossible.) because the lead goddess is the sun goddess, she creates the red sun and brings it closer to earth with each passing day in hopes it'll fry all life off the planet.
the gods take human form to try and escape her, but have no choice other than to follow her orders. because of this, the three chosen warriors have to kill all of them, starting from the bottom with the minor deities and working their way up. they express guilt and grow upset over having to kill the gods and goddesses who couldn't control their actions, but try to convince themselves they'd die either way. either they fight and the warriors kill them; or they don't, and the sun goddess does.
there's a lot to explain which i can't do in a short amount of time, yikes.
Wow. Pretty cool.
That is incredible @hyliamalice .
Thank you guys, I wish I could explain it better but there's so much that just can't be summarised.
I like the phrase 'hell on earth' so in my universe, Earth is a "shadow world" of the original, created by basically a magical cataclysm. Plot is, on Earth the original species got watered down into what we know as humans today. (Original world kind of functions like "spirit" world). So in the True world, there's magic- with stones, not wands. All types of governments that tolerate each other… for now. Got you standard magical creatures here with faeries. mermaids, dragons, etc. Of course, those too vary with region. All humanoids are varying colors of the rainbow.. secondary colors are somewhat prejudiced against (orange, green, purple from tolerable to fearful). Romantic lead is in True world and has to figure out a way to get to our heroine in the Shadow world… to save the species, naturally ;) she doesn't know she's a Fae queen type and if she doesn't go through the proper rituals, she'll die. Since Faes work like a ants/bees whereas only she can have the babies, if she dies the species goes extinct. At this point, she's like a caterpillar that can't spin it's chrysalis and if she can't transform, the wings forming inside her will just act as poison within the body. Her days are numbered and she has no idea- she thinks it's just belly fat -meanwhile our romantic lead up until the start point of the book, has been panicking over dwindling time frame. He can see her due to the magic in True world but she can't see or sense him. Story starts where he has figured out a way to get to Shadow world.
Mine is about a kingdom called Arkadia, of which there are actually two which each exist on two different planets that orbit each other. The story begins right before the 'Ascension' which is when the planets start to 'collide'. Not physically collide, but portals start opening everywhere and crazy stuff happens until they completely merge. Its a cataclysmic event that has happened 12 times before, bringing humanity to the brink of extinction each time and being forgotten in the millennia following it. each time, one of the two 'chosen ones' ascends to godhood, specifically whichever one doesn't die. The story is about the two chosen ones of this Ascension, Vira and Eloise.
@Jenna i think yours sounds really good! i especially like the concept of the fae being like insects
I have the continent of Dulchessy, and most of my story takes place on the southwest end in the countries of Larevalise, Idrid, Senter, and Alory. Larevalise is the biggest one, and it has its issues but things are generally pretty good. Idrid broke off of bits of Larevalise and Senter like 800 years ago. The people there have a reputation for being fierce and a little over the top defensive. Alory pretty much does their own thing and keeps to themself. They also have the most magic and the biggest population of elves. Connected? Who knows? Senter has the center of the continent within their borders and so they named their entire country after that. There's also The North, which is a bunch of separate countries but they're separated from the rest of the continent by the Stratbone Mountains and also usually seen as just one entity filled with barbarians.
My world is called Elysea Dionriel, the World Seen by All. Mortals, called Herentei, and immortals, the Kíenarei and their more powerful subgroup, the Ketyrei, the elves. The elves are less than 5% of the total population but they are the designated leaders of the immortals, separated into eight Houses, each with their own area of expertise, magical or otherwise, with one House as the ultimate Line of Kings, with their Lord the High King (or Queen) over the Kíenarei. The Herentei has their own king, but no Houses. At the last Great War, the Lady of Leiris, one of the Houses, was believed to be killed along with her three young daughters. However, her youngest was saved because of the will of the gods, as the Houses cannot wane until the end of the world. She was raised and later married a mortal. She refused to go back to her place as Lady of Leiris but instead travelled the world. Her half-mortal sons didn't claim their place either, so Leiris was also known as the Sundered.
Thousands of years later, when the Lady's sons have long died, their power hungry descendants want to go back to their place as the Lord of Leiris and reclaim their lands and property. If they put their case before the High King and wait for his approval, they would've gotten their lands back, but instead they plotted to overthrow the House of Perlintë, the Line of Kings. My story is about the lost heir of Perlintë, an elven warrior princess (who I haven't decided if she should be a demigirl or not), dealing with this mess.
I have four main stories:
The first one I've been working on since like 2008-ish and requires a bit of information about the world to explain the story. It's made up of 5 different countries: Forania, Falthra, Camaria, Arribea, and Stahlvenia. Each country has two Magic Keepers (who are basically just magic users. Their main job is to protect their home country, usually involves spending a lot of time with the King. ) well, in theory at least. The Magic Keepers get their powers by being personally selected by the Magic Keeper that represents their country. So basically the Magic Keeper from Arribea, Valder, is also the king of his country. He wants his country to be the greatest and he tried to get his fellow Magic Keepers to work with him. They all refused since going along with his plan would be basically betraying their own countries, so Valder killed them all. This put him in a position to personally select all 5 Magic Keepers.
So anyways, the actual story starts when the main character, Keyla gets chosen to be a Magic Keeper. She ends up having to leave her home in Falthra after Valder's men came and tried to take her away. She runs away to Stahlvenia, and the story is basically her trying to round up the other Magic Keepers so that they can take down Valder.

The second story takes place in a country called Toltova. In the past, there was a group called the Patrol whose job was to rid the land of people with powers. Eventually though, a new king came into power and basically made everything that they were doing illegal and the Patrol disbanded.
That all happened a few decades before the story though. The story focusses on 4 main characters who end up having to leave home after their powers are discovered (There's still a lot of hate and intolerance towards people with abilities, so even though the Patrol "doesn't exist anymore" it's still not really safe for people to be open about their abilities. In quotation marks because it's discovered early on that they've actually been operating in secret all these years). The characters find a safe haven, and end up trying to find a way to get rid of the Patrol so that they can make the world safe for people with powers again. They end up being faced with a moral dilemma though, because the easiest thing to do would be to just kill them all off, but that would only enforce the idea that people with powers are dangerous (and that thinking was exactly why the Patrol came into existence in the first place)
__
Third story takes place in modern day Vancouver, Canada. The story starts out with the main character, Dallas, who witnesses the death of a classmate who had been missing for about a month. Right before the death of his classmate, Dallas discovers that both he and his classmate have telekinetic powers. It doesn't take him long to figure out that their powers and the disappearance and death of his classmate are linked. He teams up with two other characters that also have the same abilities and they try to piece together everything that happened the night that his classmate went missing. Except it's not easy because 1. Dallas can't remember anything from the night his classmate went missing 2. The other two characters have really clashing personalities and tend to butt heads way too often. 3. The people responsibly for the classmate's death are up to all kinds of shady stuff and will do anything to prevent people from finding out about it.
__
Fourth story is still very much a work in progress, but it takes place in a universe where magic is really regulated by the government. The main character's parents are pretty high ranking government officials, and they go missing unexpectedly. The main character, Yara, ends up having to go into hiding after the people who came for her parents try to take her as well. But given that the government doesn't seem all that concerned that two of their high ranking workers are missing, Yara still tries to investigate their disappearances while still keeping a low profile.
I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with it yet, but that's the main concept.
My world came into being with the help of two gods, goddess Earth and god Ocean. In the wake of their birth, a prophecy echoed in the emptiness. "One to rise, one to fall, and many to bow in awe to the Creator of All".
It is implied that there is a third god that existed before them and possibly created them, either for entertainment or so they could take over when he left existence, I haven't decided yet.
The two gods dove into constant rivalry for the title 'Creator', each trying to one up the other and in the process they created a world teeming with life. The story really starts when Favian, the goddess' right hand, suggests a final competition to end the feud, once and for all. Each of them were to make a creature in their own image. God Ocean went on to create sea-dwellers, a race that reflected him in almost every aspect. They were daring and adventurous to no end. They were able to shape shift and they lived in the underwater caves that tunneled through the seabed.
Goddess Earth, the embodiment of warmth and protection, made her children with the ability to harden their skin to the point where nothing could break it. They also used their four arms as weapons. The bravest of warriors sharpened two of theirs into swords. They loved strongly, and protected everyone they held dear with vigor.
However, this isn't what Favian wanted, he was tired of his own, weak, body and he wanted to become stronger. He wanted to prove that he could have been better as a land-walker and that he could be better as the Creator. He manipulated the sea-dwellers into cutting down half the forest that the land-walkers lived in to create skafos, large, raft-like boats capable of holding over 50. This caused the land-walkers to wage war on them.
At the end of the battle, god Ocean, embarrassed by his children's actions, took away their power and trapped them in a simple form. Goddess Earth, not wanting to cause unbalance after so long, did the same to the land-walkers. Realizing that neither of them were meant to be the 'Creator of All', they crafted the energy from the magic to make two items, the Sword of Sea and the Shield of Land.
They withdrew from the world, like their predecessor, leaving it with a final message.
"The one worthy to hold both shield and sword will gain the powers of a lost race restored. In the end, when they defeat the traitor, they will truly earn the title Creator."
Mine is about a group of diverse "Half-Elementals", who become vigilantes in order to atone for accidents that happened due to their powers awakening for the first time. They end up uncovering a plot by a race of Reptilian aliens to eventually take Earth, which it's up to them to fight. Later, this time the series' second Arc, a bunch of people emerge from a portal, seeking their help. They explain that they're an Interdimensional Association who is under attack from a mysterious force, simply called "Entropy", and they need their help. The basis for this waa that they attempted to get the elemental races to help but they didn't care because they're "above it all", so they're the Primary candidates. (By the way, Elementals are on a higher dimensional tiering than most other beings, and that extends to even the main cast, being Half-Elementals, so the special snowflake thing can remain valid and this can fix a plothole with the Arc.
Third Arc is just more fighting street-based and organized crime, natural disasters, a cyborg or two, and crossovers with other series of mine!
All in all the series remains grounded before elevating to Bashir and taking a path back down.
