So I have 7 races in my world and each of them have a place of origin. For some races it is closer to one another, for others it is very far away from rest. I want to find where those races would end up over time compared to where they started.
My world is full of islands and the only things i have are the planets climates, the current day country boarders, the race values and sort of their cultures as well.
So my main question is how could they migrate (assuming theY all have ways to cross the oceans) and what could be reasons for doing so?
Maybe they could migrate via boats, submarines, or some sort of naval travel like that? And the reasons can definitely vary; I don't know anything about how the races function on the world you created, but I know that for humans then reasons for migrating can normally be categorized into political, economic, social, environmental, or a combination of those. I hope that helps!
I think @phantomflame made a good point about possible reasons for migration. Real-life migration is all about push-pull factors; what pushes people from where they are and what pulls them to a new location? I don't know how old your world is, but people can also migrate across landforms that later disappear with time. For example, lots of people believe that the original natives of North America came across the Bearing Straight, a massive ice bridge that later melted with the decline of the ice age.
