forum Need help with creating a basis for my Universe

So I have been working on a story that revolves around the adventures of beings that live in different dimensions, however Ive been having trouble lately… These beings live in the astral planes, one of the 7 Planes of Existence and they can draw power from them, all of that fun stuff but with all of the things I already came up or already implemented its difficult to make it feel cohesive and not a jumbled mess, so if anyone can help me with that, even break down a way that I could fit in these Planes or if anyone has knowledge on them in general and dont mind explaining to me in a tl;dr manner it would be greatly appreciated

I would say that they have one plane that is kind of like the gateway for all the planes that they can pass into; almost like a check point. So this will serve as the central hub of your story.
Not really sure what the premise of your story is so its hard to find something that will fit within your stories idea. Is it full on science-fi, is technology a big thing, is there a universal government that moderates travel….?
