I need help making a culture for a race in my story. They are a cross between a human and an elf in their physique. Humans have dubbed them fairies, however, they are also called the Nemari. They come from a planet similar to Earth and they possess magic tied to the elements (talents). If you want more info in this regard, let me know.
The parts of their culture I've got down are:
- fairies, particularly those above the age of 45 are very legacy-bent, meaning they believe that legacy is inherited
- Similarly, many adult fairies dislike the idea of adoption even though most of the older adults lost children in a genocide that occurred prior to the escape of their home planet, and many between the ages of 28 and 40 lost parents
- Their government is a Monarchy with a Council. The system was established 42 years prior to the story
