I really have no idea what to name the planet. I was thinking George, and naming places on the planet after Uranus' moons, but I don't know. I just need some ideas.
I was kinda thinking a name with a caring feel about it. like the planet was caring for everything on it.
So like a soft-vibe-ish? Idk first thing that came to mind was Fern, it might work-
Is the planet occupied? Going to be colonized, or a nature sanctuary? Barren? This could inspire lots of names.
I like how in Stellaris, a Fallen Empire calls the first planets they colonized Mother and Brother (and I think a little moon called Sister), while the sun in their system was called Father. (And then there is a clearly destroyed world they refer to as "The Mistake"…) Perhaps the culture that named the planet has similar ideas.
The inhabitants of the planet don't have families, there are no mothers, brothers, sisters, or fathers.
But, the planet, it's moons and the sun could all be named after things on the planet, each culture having different names for the same terrestrial bodies. Or what if the planet changed names with the season, in the cold season it could be called snow or something similar. Or maybe based on the weather.
Whatever works best in your story. I can see constantly changing names becoming a bit confusing to the reader, however if it's a big part of your story than it might be worth it shrug
The story I'm writing right now in the world only takes place over ten days, though I'll likely be writing other stories on the same planet.
I feel it could be explained quit easily, a simple 'We live on (Planet name), though it's only called that in the summer months, it's called (planet name) in winter, (planet name) In autumn and (planet name) in spring.' or something similar with a bit more personality. I don't know.
Maybe it changes names for the kind of year (612 days) it is. odd or even, since they started counting the years.
I don't know, I still don't have a name, Fern is nice, but it is an earth plant, naming a planet after a plant from another planet none of the inhabitants of the planet have ever been to is a bit of a stretch for the logic of the story, if the planet was inhabited by humans who colonized it, it would make sense but that doesn't happen to be the case, thank you anyway though.
I'm rambling at this point.
