Very interested to see this finished. When you both get to a point in development that your comfortable with consider starting a Facebook page about this novel your writing to get some pre-release attention. Providing updates and a short summary of what the book will be about and how the themes are important to both of you. Possibly sharing a excerpt or two. If you both decide to do something like what I've just suggested please post a link of some sort to this thread so those who have found it and are interested can keep up to date on your progress. This is something I have tossed around the idea of doing when I get farther along on my own project. Best of luck to the both of you!
