If anyone is having trouble either designing or figuring out how certain weapons might work or fit within the context of your world, I'm here to help. I'm no expert on everything, but I certainly know a lot!

I need a weapon that is sort of gun like, but magical…
If you have any thoughts or suggestions it would be appreciated!
"Gun-like, but magical." Well, there are a lot of options you have here. Either the gun can be magic, the bullets can be magic, or the gun itself shoots magic. What would you like?
THE BULLETS! Y E S
Idea accepted. Thx
Now you've got to worry about what the bullets do. Whenever I think of magic bullets, I think of Enter the Gungeon and how all magical bullets have a chance to turn enemies into chickens (though I'm not sure if you'd want a chance to turn into a chicken rather than always turning into a chicken). I'm assuming specially-made bullets with arcane gunpowder, silver jackets, a special primer, and some kind of fancy lead or magic metal that makes really powerful but rare bullets. The effect that they have is up to you, however.
Yeah, sure, I want them to be killer. They're sort of magic technology which may not make sense to you, but they infect people and kill them almost instantly.
So a… bullet. Alright.
Yea…….
.__.
But a magical one.
Would a set of daggers be a good choice for an assassin? I just need a small, silent weapon, and I'd like to be creative about it. The thing is I know nothing about weapons. What's your suggestion?
Daggers? For assassins? Have you been living under a rock?!
…Yes. Pardon my attempt at humor, but daggers are often the weapon of choice for many assassins. If you aren't stabbing someone, then you are usually killing them from far away. Thing is. sound isn't usually an issue for someone with fifteen different escape routes and three sets of backup plans, which many of the best assassins have. For up-close and personal, I recommend any large knife or short daggers, makes them easy to conceal. For range, I'd recommend a suppressed (not silenced, that doesn't exist) firearm or a crossbow.
Thing is, most of the assassin's tools have multiple uses. For example, knives can be used as trowels for quickly digging or burying something, crossbows and guns have mechanics that can be used as lockpicks or to build something else, and many times these are all concealed within everyday items such as umbrellas and suitcases. I'm certain there are creative ways for your assassin to use any of these weapons, I'd highly recommend looking up shinobi tools and weird weapons throughout history, most of them belonged to assassins or people who needed to kill quietly.
use a very thin and long-bladed knife, you can pierce organs with it, but leave a very small hole that won't be noticed until later.
Or, if they're quite dextrous, use an empty syringe and squeeze an air bubble into them. It'll look like a heart attack and leave a very small mark unless they get into a struggle beforehand.
