You need more history, history can shape an entire society. Your description was vague and unclear, and a little cliche.

You need a better summary than pagan-esque. You've got all the basics of religion, but pagan-anything is really not a description in any case. 'Pagan' is just a word used by Christians to describe non-Christians. It has the same general meaning as 'heathen' or 'infidel'
How was the archaic language formed? Why is it the holy language? You described it as polytheistic. What gods are there? Is there a holy text, or is the tradition passed on orally?

You mentioned that they read holy texts for worship services but what are those holy texts called?

One thing I always tell writers when creating alien races: Don't just go with the male/female binary system. That is an earthly system which only applies to 'so' many complex species. Microorganisms don't have sex. SOme creatures can go from one to the other. Plants are both sexes. These are ALIENS. Get creative outside of a binary system.
