@yeetus
I had a lot
I had a lot
I haven’t written anything other than things for my English 10 class. But I used a lot of different styles
It kind of depends what ive read recently what kind of stories i want to write but i also just try a bunch of different stuff
My main work mainly used inspiration from Tolkien and the MCU (don't ask me how I managed to merge that)
Definitely Marvel, Image and DC, Star Wars, and AtLA, among others including many mangaka.
Hey! Haven’t seen you on here for a while!
Yeah, I'm back now.
Fullmetal Alchemist was a big one for me
Anne Ursu, Natalie Lloyd, Hannah Heath, Chawna Shroeder, Dave Filoni (don't ask), Tolkien, Lewis, and Josh Dun (also another one you don't ask about)
(DAVE FILONI IS BRILLIANT!!!)
TOLKIEN
also i really don't know??
i love a lot of authors, but their work doesn't usually have anything to do with mine
i guess a lot of 1920s nihilistic authors inspire me idk
Rick Riordan and the way he writes. The Percy Jackson series and The Hero's of Olympus played a big part in all my ideas.
True!
Yeah, like how he managed to make it so funny but still serious
Terry Pratchett most definitely, neil gaiman, douglas adams, christopher moore, david j. peterson, lish mcbride, mark rosenfelder, scott cunningham, eoin colfer……. i read a lot of old fantasy/sci-fi as a kid and its definitely shaped the way i write and express ideas.
You are all giving loads of ideas for new books to read
IDK
I have like
IDK I don't really draw on people's a lot?
Maybe my main thing is a little like Brandon Mull's Beyonders? but not really.
But I have an Alice in Wonderland project going on, obviously inspired by Lewis Carroll lol
Yeah, like how he managed to make it so funny but still serious
Yes, that is what I want my writing to be like.
Honestly most of my inspiration comes from books I LOVED when I was really young, like the Warriors series and Wolves of the Beyond.
So my main WIP is mainly inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist, but with a hint of Fairy Tail. I was really into both shows when I started writing it.
My other one is kind of like Eragon, but not really. I mean, there are dragons.
My third one is actually quite original. I sat here, thinking about it for a minute, but uhhhh it’s also medieval fantasy, although something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.
I might want to make my mentor (a 15,000 yo seer that looks like an 8 yo girl with creepy eyes) either speak Old English (thee, thou) or talk like Yoda or both, so if she talks like Yoda than I would Star Wars to the list
Speak like Shakespeare Yoda she will, hmm?
(Did you read that in Yoda's voice? If not, I've failed.)
I was laughing so hard except it's maths class
What time zone are you in? I wrote that at about midnight here in WI.
Karen traviss is a military journalist who also wrote some star wars novels. The characters are top notch
