I finally, finally, finally have the plot sorted out for one of my stories. I don't normally come up with my characters without first having a story thought out first but that was what happened this time. There's still a few things that need work, like I don't have some of the backstories of the characters figured out, and the antagonists don't have a motive (yet). But I'm really excited to start working on it because I love the characters, but I've been sitting on them for nearly a year because I had no story for them.

I'm pretty excited for the world building too because it's a fantasy, but it's pretty different from other stuff that I've read and written in the past. It's a little more modern, but a lot of the stuff that makes it modern is stems from magic. The government is also unique to the story. All my other stories just have monarchies (and the only one that doesn't takes place in modern day Canada) so it's been neat trying to come up with my own government system. The world itself is based heavily on Costa Rica. I was visiting last year and it's such a neat place. I thought it would make for a cool setting, especially in a fantasy.
