Hmm, it'll have to be Dovewing. Don't hate me!
I don't see how she's a "Mary Sue." She struggles with losing her powers, showing how she lost a part of her instead of being like "okay cool". She cannot find love or refuses it, a real-world problem that teenagers tend to have. (I haven't read the new super edition.) I don't agree with Tigerheart x Dovewing. A little too cliche. She's the perfect example of someone having something extra and then losing it, causing trauma. She still struggles to have a decent relationship with her sister, something a lot of siblings deals with. I like Dovewing, but I didn't agree with how the Hunters threw Hollyleaf out the window.

Villian. Well, it'd have to be Darktail. He's the only one with a decent backstory and plot for revenge. Ex. Scrouge: "This cat beat me up when I was little, LETS KILL EVERYTHING." Tigerstar "I want to be the leader, idk why. IMMA KILL EVERYTHING!" Brokenstar "I was abused, now i must ABUSE ALL OTHER CHILDREN."
WAIT

I forgot Mapleshade! Sorry Darktail, *Throws him out the window like the Hunters did to Hollyleaf * Mapleshade's my favorite.

She's the perfect example of a forbidden relationship enforced and gone wrong. She was banished from her family, was forced to cross the river, resulting in her children's death, cheated on, and neglected. After the trauma caught her, she went insane, killing those who caused her children's death.
Really. Ravensomething influenced the leader to force her out when the weather was horrible. Fernsomething blamed her for lying when she never said they were her brother's kits, and blamed her for something she couldn't control.
And her own mate, the one she bared kits for, neglected her, after all the trauma, she was shunned. These three cats broke her heart. Her sanity left her. The one thing she had loved had died because of these cats. She had nothing.
So she could do whatever she wanted without the consequences hurting her, because she was already broken.
She was destroyed, and so she destroyed the ones who did this, the ones who forced her into a dangerous area, the ones who blamed her for something she couldn't control, and the one who neglected her in her time of need.

This is why Mapleshade is awesome.

Well, I love your devotion! How about thoughts on medicine cats not being able to have a mate?

Deleted user

I think they should have mates.
I think that if a medicine cat falls in love, they get an apprentice to teach when they are getting a mate and pregnant. That way they will have help giving birth and if sickness spreads. After all, we do see that pregnant she-cats are able to do stuff, as they are mobile for at least two months.
I also understand why they cant have mates. It's not about kits and love, it's about purity. They represent Nuns, they are devoted to Starclan as Nuns are to God. Does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense. I always thought they should be able to have mates, and you put it into words perfectly while explaining why they don't as well.

@m1dn1g7t_ri0ts_13

On the topic of medicine cats having mates, I’m not really on one side. I can see both sides to the argument.

They can’t help it if they fall in love. If they have a trained apprentice then the apprentice can help with sick cats and kitting.

…But, they did agree to the conditions of being a medicine cat. If they really wanted to be a medicine cat they should be able to give up having a mate. After all, they knew they couldn’t have a mate and they still decided to become a med cat.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Unless, of course, they were destined to become a medicine cat. In which case, I suppose they shouldn't even fall in love in the first place, but hearts don't exactly work the way a prophecy wants them to, now do they?

That was very fun to read tbh. I never cared for Tigerstar much, though he was a good villain. Scourge never appealed to me much either until I read his manga. I think both Tigerstar and Scourge are great villains(just not for the right reasons). I barely knew Mapleshade until I read her story, and she became my favorite instantly. She had proper reasoning behind her revenge. I'd have to agree with SYCORE on Mapleshade. Oof, I'm a bit behind

@m1dn1g7t_ri0ts_13

Mapleshade is a great villain too. She was definitely my second favorite. I also loved reading about her and Crookedstar in Crookedstar’s Promise.

The medicine cats who "fell in love"(only quotations because some probably didn't love the other cat, but felt an attraction less than love) couldn't choose who they loved. They couldn't help feeling the way they do. It's just some chased after love and some ignored it. But, on the other hand as MidnightWarrior put it, they agreed to the conditions of being a med cat. They could ignore the feelings(or try at least) and do what they were supposed to do.

@Lavy-the-Nerdy-Sci-Fi-Birdy

I would say Mothwing and Mistystar are my favorite characters.
Darktail is my favorite villain. I remembering reading Onestar's story on how he had an 'affair' with a kittypet and Darktail is his son and I was just like, " Thank you Erin Hunter, here I was begining to lose faith and you surprise me."
Mapleshade is cool too.

@"The Lavender Owl" Onestar doesn't have a story, and that never happened? And I'm either Windclan or Shadowclan.

Who is your favorite leader/medicine cat friendship and why?

Deleted user

I have read all the books(except for Tigerheart's Shadow) and I even looked it up just in case I hadn't heard of it and nope. Are you sure it wasn't a fanfiction? I've had real books and fanfics mixed up plenty of times. Now maybe I'm wrong though.

Oh. The third one? Because I also haven't read the third one. That was my mistake then
