The Vanguards of the Mortal Layers are as follows. Here we list their powers, weaknesses and good techniques to use!

Dragonkin
POWERS
-vastly superhuman strength, stamina, agility, durability and regeneration
-pyrokinesis, can create, control, manipulate and resist fire, as well as cause explosions
-can create blades on elbows and knees, grow armor-like scales,huge wings for flight, and a long, powerful tail too, as well as all manner of spines and horns.
WEAKNESSES
-some chinks in their scales, their blades and horns can pierce their armor too
-fire's less hot and dense underwater.
STRATEGIES
-spontaneous combustion is good for enhancing the dragon's already formidable close-combat prowess
-fly high and snipe with fire, try hit-and-run tactics

Griffonkin
POWERS
-lionlike superhuman strength, stamina, agility, speed, durability and regeneration too, though not as powerful as Dragonkin
-can see into multiple spectrums and gas nightvision
-the best flier of the group
-can create shockwaves with an ear-piercing shriek or roar
-can grow insulated and slightly armored fur, as well as daggerlike talons on each limb
WEAKNESSES
-can experience visual overload easily
-cannot fly if bogged down by liquids
-too streamlined to fan away undesirable gasses
STRATEGIES
-hit-and-run tactics are your go-to, even moreso than the dragon
-ambush tactics and aerial dogfights

Unicornkin
POWERS
-horselike superhuman endurance, agility, durability and regeneration
-can generate near-impenetrable forcefields
-can cure others of wounds and ails of sorts
-can grow a horn, which can change shape into blades, spears, shields, tridents, and axes among others
WEAKNESSES
-physically the weakest Vanguard
-defense and healing powers lack versatility
STRATEGIES
-support is your go-to, best to hide and heal others under cover of a forcefield
-frontal attacks are good, but only for a finishing blow

Chimerakin
-lionlike superhuman strength and stamina, goatlike agility, superhuman durability and regeneration
-minor pyrokinesis
-can manifest venomous blades, claws, and snakelike fangs
-thermal-sensing
WEAKNESSES
-quite the glass cannon, can dish out damage but cannot take it for shizz
-little ranged firepower
STRATEGIES
-ambushes are best for this one
-best for creating diversions

Cerberuskin
POWERS
-superhuman strength, stamina, agility, speed and vitality
-can transform into a diglike humdnoid with three heads and venomous claws
-can bite through almost anything and has a powerful bark
-can spit noxious smoke
WEAKNESSES
-less maneuverability in doglike form
-can take less punishment in base form
STRATEGIES
-use noxious smoke to wear down enemies and also mess with them
-switch between forms for best results

Leviathankin
-the physically strongest, also superhuman stamina, durability and regeneration
-can spit out scalding water, or hot steam
-can createarmorlike scales, and can increase in size a bit
WEAKNESSES
-no maneuverability
-very bad ranged stuff
STRATEGIES
-frontal attacks are your best bet
-initiate attacks and use size to conceal and protect your teamates

Noice, trying to think of a character I could adapt to the criteria… (cause I hate trying to create new ones..)

Basically they're all designed as class archetypes.
Dragon is standard well-rounded, Griffon is mobility,
Unicorn is support defense/healing,
Chimera is close quarters assassin
Cerberus is offensive support
Leviathan is heavy tank
