Let's chat about all things Stephen King!

So, what was the first Stephen KIng story that you read? For me, it was The Colorado Kid.
I freaking squealed when I saw a chat titled Stephen King! Just recently I've started reading some of his books. I actually read a biography about him and did a presentation on it for AP English, and that's what got me interested in his books. The first one I had ever read was Pet Sematary, but I never got to finish it because my grandma is reading it and she hasn't given it back yet.
After I read The Colorodo Kid I read Under the Dome, Carrie, Revival, and Cujo. I started to read Salem's Lot, The Tommyknockers, The Talisman, and Duma Key. I don't really have a favorite by him, but I do enjoy how the man writes!
Same! I have Duma Key and I really want to read Cujo and Carrie!
I recently watched Gerald's Game. Honestly, I find the more realistic stories to be creepier than the other ones. I've watched Cujo, Misery, Under the Dome (tv series), Silver Bullet, Christine, Carrie (all versions), and others. Sadly haven't watched either version of It yet, but I'll eventually get around to that. Oh, and I've also wathced The Green Mile, Thinner, and Dreamcather.
Oh my god the handcuff scene in Gerald's Game… dude I couldn't watch that
That was very gory, and had me cringing!
Same! I've always thought that I could handle gore pretty well, but I had to close my eyes at that part
I miss watching Haven, which was loosely based off of The Colorodo Kid.
Same! I've always thought that I could handle gore pretty well, but I had to close my eyes at that part
I toughed it out, and made it through that without looking away!
Ahh, I don't think I could ever do that!
It was difficult! I'm thinking about re-reading Under the Dome, even though I have a few books that I haven't read yet.
I haven't read that one either. What's it about?
It's about a dome that mysteriously falls down over a town, and the people inside are faced with the struggles of being closed off from the outside world. Families are seperated, and of course, there's a bunch of crazy stuff that happens. It's mostly suspense in my opinion, but it's a great read either way!
That sounds pretty cool! I might read it at some point.
I started reading IT, but haven't really gotten around to finishing it yet, but I would like to read Carrie and Pet Sematary. Also Cujo sounds good
Pet Sematary is soooo good!
Haven't gotten around to reading IT, nor Pet Sematary…. Yet. Perhaps someday. Lol
IT is super long lol
I found a site that has some of his books available to read online! You can look up other books and authors too! :-)
Awesome! What is it?
Awesome! What is it?
Thanks :D
Under the Dome got pretty bad reviews though (mainly because of the ending, but not going to spoil it). If you want to start getting into King and don't want to read a large novel, I would really recommend his collections of short stories like Night Shift - they're just as good as his books IMO.
Has anyone read:
