I thought I’d make a little database for this and whatnot. I know certain people like to play different genres opposed to others, so this could help in terms of recruiting people for one on ones or other RPs. Just a handy little thing I guess?
Here’s the template, fill it out here. Like I said mostly serves a purpose in terms of recruiting or starting RPs with people.

Here’s mine, filled out as an example…
Username: Mojack
Preferred genres: I’ll do just about anything, though I usually have genres that I fixate on at certain periods. My general favourites are sci-fi, modern, low-fantasy, historical fiction and horror. I enjoy playing as non-human characters, though I have plenty of humans around. I’m chill with romance, and I’m chill with (some) mature subjects. I don’t really do fandom RPs, so I wouldn’t recommend asking.
Private or public: No preference.
1x1 or group RPs: No preference.
Literacy: Semi-lit to advanced lit.
Other: I do go through periods of being inactive and sometimes if I don’t respond, I may have looked at the rp, thought “I’ll respond later” then end up getting distracted with something else.
The ’other’ section would typically used for any other important details worth mentioning, like how I used it to say how I can be inactive sometimes.
Aside from serving as a “what genres does this person typically like” place, it can be a hub for starting RPs. Like reading through someone’s profile and thinking “hm, let me ask if this person wants to do a rp.” Or not. I don’t know if this whole thing’ll catch on or not.
The username refers to the most common name that most people on notebook would know you by. You can have multiple. For me, it would be ‘Mojack.’
There aren’t many rules, but..
- Be kind. I don’t want any discourse starting up in this chat. If you have rp drama…take it elsewhere.
- Put spoilers as needed. Spoilers can be done by…
<.spoiler> text </spoiler.> (remove periods.)
So then it would come out as this!
Spoiler - click to show.
ooga booga
- Keep things on topic. Remember, this serves as a hub for RP ideas and whatnot. This isn’t as major as a rule as the rest, but I’ve seen other chats go off-topic before. I’d ask you to take it elsewhere or make another chat for it.
Username: Ash
Preferred genres: Just about anything, but I love modern fantasy. Adventure's pretty cool too.
Private or public: I prefer public roleplays.
1x1 or group RPs: I don't really have a preference.
Literacy: At least semi-lit
Other: I sometimes take forever to get a response up, don't worry, just bump it and I'll get a response in as quick as I can!
Username: Starlight-Starbright, but I go by Orion most of the time.
Preferred genres: Pretty much anything.
Private or public: either, depending on the content and how I’m feeling.
1x1 or group RPs: usually 1x1s but group RPs are fun too
Literacy: Preferably fairly literate, but I won’t turn anyone away most of the time.
Other: I don’t have many serious triggers, and the ones I do have I can usually redirect from. I’m pretty open to RPing or just chatting as of the moment if you want to shoot me a PM but I might be stressed and unable to do an RP with you at the moment/in the future and have to get back to you later.
Uuhhhh this is smart??? Awesome idea!
Username: Just call me Oakley/Oak/Oaken
Preferred genres: Sci-fi, fantasy, romance, modern, really I'll do anything. Depends on my mood.
Private or public: Either babyy~~
1x1 or group RPs: I usually prefer 1x1, or very small groups
Literacy: LONG, the longer the better.
Other: I am very busy. If I start an RP, I may not be able to get to you for a few days, but I haven't forgotten you. If I don't reply within a week, please bump~
I don't really rp often but I hope this'll get me to do more
Username: Salami but you can call me Sam
Preferred genres: I prefer more realistic genre's rather than fantasy, sci-fi, etc.
Private or public: I've never done a private rp but i think I'd be fine with doing one in the future.
1x1 or group RPs: I don't really mind.
Literacy: I guess semi-lit? Like as long as you have proper grammar and spelling, it's ok with me.
Other: Sometimes I forget to respond for a long time so you just gotta bump it so I remember.
Username: @maddie-the-unknown [nicknames include ibby]
Preferred genres: Pretty much anything. Preference for dark things tho
Private or public: no preference but idk i'm more active on discord so if you're down for an rp on there thats great
1x1 or group RPs: 1x1's pls
Literacy: uh, not too much of a preference? so uh semi-lit, as salami said, proper grammar and spelling, and i'm fine with that. no one-liners pls, but if you so desire to rp like that, i'm fine with it as long as it is on discord.
Other: if you so wish to do our rp on nb for whatever reason, im not actually that active on here so be prepared for spotty replies
Username: JokerOfTheDeck
Preferred genres: Dystopian, fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, modern, etc. I'm good with anything but romance (I dont know how to write romance).
Private or public: Public usually, but I'll occasionally do private.
1x1 or group RPs: Small groups are preferable
Literacy: Semi-lit, and proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are important.
Other: I'm trying to get back into role playing after months of zero rp, so my respond game might be slow until I get back into the swing of it.
Username: Cloudy
Preferred genres: I love anything with magic! Romance is super fun, so I'm into that too! Fandom RPs are good too, and if you ever have a huge mega crossover type RP that you want to recruit for, hmu!
Private or public: Public is more my style, but I'm not opposed to private either.
1x1 or group RPs: I can do one on one RPs, but I find that I do better in group RPs. Sometimes anxiety-brain gets the better of me and I panic and don't know how my character would respond to something, so if there's multiple people and I don't have to respond right away then it helps with that. But I can do one on one!
Literacy: Semi-lit? Proper grammar and punctuation is a must, and I prefer good spelling but I'm not too picky about that last one. No one-liners, either, I like relatively long responses.
Other: Sometimes I take a while to respond, just bump/let me know it's my turn to reply and I'll whip something up! I'm still in high school, so there will be certain periods that I can reply and certain periods where I just can't. And this really only applies to next week(7th/8th of September in case you're looking at this later), but my aunt is getting married and I'll be away from nb for six/seven days, so if you want to invite me to something and you need me at that time period, you'll have to ask one of these other lovely folks!
Username: @Iron_Soldier
Preferred genres: Definitely fantasy, do like romance as well. Will also do modern but it normally involves magic
Private or public: Public is fine, I typically only do private if I've been RPing with someone like a lot and like their style and stuff
1x1 or group RPs: 1x1 is better. I'm in a very different timezone (Australia) to most of the people on this site so I was normally left behind. I changed to doing smaller ones (3-4 people) and I was left behind in an RP that I started and what they were doing literally had nothing to do with the original idea. So 1x1 is so much better for me.
Literacy: I will refuse to RP with someone who cannot grammar or spell. It's just…like it's not hard to have genuine grammar. I can let spelling go if it's easy to misspell, but I won't if you can't spell a simple work like male/female (it has happened and I don't know how).
Also, please don't write in future tense or first person. First person is perfectly fine if you're writing a story but it makes no sense in an RP. Especially if others are. It's just flicking between people in a super confusing way. You can explain a character's feelings just fine in third person. And future tense doesn't make sense. At any time. No.
Other: I take a while to respond? I'm at the point in my school term (2 weeks until holidays) where I don't have motivation. For anything, really. I think I had more before a friend of mine died in a car crash a couple weeks ago…and then Chadwick Boseman…shit's not good, yeah.
A lot of the time I just don't have the motivation to reply to it even if I know what I want to say. The tab will be open and I just won't respond.
Username: Swim
Preferred genres: romance, high/low fantasy, pretty much anything with magic, to be honest. I'm also the biggest fan of forbidden/cross species/god and mortal romances, hit me up about one and I can guarantee I'll accept even if I probably shouldn't. I'm also good with fandom roleplays, but I'm very picky on which ones.
Private or public: either is good with me
1x1 or group RPs: one on one, or only three people groups. I get overwhelmed if there are more, with very few exceptions
Literacy: good grammar and spelling is prefered, but I understand English isn't everyone's first language, and even I have slip ups sometimes due to my phone and tablet hating me. I enjoy longer responses, but I must make it clear that I will not always be able to write that much. A short paragraph is about as low as I try to go, though.
Other: Sometimes I get into weird moods, so I'll only respond to my pm or public rps sometimes. Do not fear, I will always try my best to get around to responding in a day or two.
Username: Dragoncita
Preferred genres: Fantasy, sci-fi, modern fantasy
Pretty much anything that allows me to play as some kind of beast/creature
Private or public: Private or public
1x1 or group RPs: Preferably well thought-out group RPs
I do not mind 1x1's however, long as the partner is also willing to contribute to the story
Literacy: Semi-literate to literate, meaning several paragraphs at least
I desire quantity and quality
Though I understand minor mistakes, as I make mistakes when I type replies
Other: I only ever RP as some kind of creature. I do not RP as a human
Dark, blood, gore, etc., are things I write. If you are not comfortable with cursing, suggestive themes, and so forth, then please look elsewhere
Posting in RP, always take your time. There is no rush to respond, as I understand daily life comes first. Sometimes takes me a several days to even a week before being able to respond
