Public School.
Pacer Test. Is. A. Horrible. Thing. When. You. Have. Breathing. Issues.
Lunch food. Don't eat it. Please. I beg of you.
Teachers that give you panic attacks in class and don't realize it. Those same teachers telling you to try yoga for anxiety. Those same teachers looking you dead in the eye while they tell you that "Happiness is a choice."
Never any silence in the library. Never.
Pep rallies so loud that you have panic attacks because of all the loud noise, eventually just avoiding them all together.
Hurting yourself in class and the teacher not wanting you to leave to go to the nurse. Even though you are bleeding.
Being so stressed out that you hurt yourself for a distraction.
Having to recheck if you are doing something right every five minutes because the instructions are so incredibly vague.
Not having enough desks for everyone at the start of the year, though that gets solved pretty quickly.
Hearing people use "Gay" as an insult.
Being catcalled in the hallways.
A completely unnecessary amount of cursing by students and staff alike.
Not being able to use a sketchpad, so you sketch on assignments. Then getting yelled at for sketching on them.
Textbooks that you literally never use.
People that treat anxiety as a character flaw.
Teachers that say you would get better grades if you just "Tried harder."
Finishing before everyone else but not turning your paper in because you don't want to draw attention to yourself.
Over 1200 students in the building at any given time.
Everyone giving up by the end of the school year.
This has been a brief detailing of public school.
that si so true
All my teachers always tell me that i havent reached my full potential. IDGAF! i learn hands on, not visual!
im Non Binary and hearing people use gay as an insult kinda sucks
nd then the teacher refusing to call yyou by your pronouns
That happened to my friend this year. He started identifying as a male this year and most of the kids still called him 'she'
Agreed. Got to a point last year where I would leave bruises lasting for weeks by biting down on my wrists, and where I broke skin and raised welts by scratching my arms. I didn't like the sensation either, just wanted a distraction from everything. I disassociate pretty bad too, referring to myself in the third person and all. Don't really remember what happens when I do that.
all of this sucks
One of my dearest friends is trans, ftm, and he keeps getting rude comments.
The worst so far?
Someone in the lunch line, a complete stranger, repeatedly tapped on his shoulder saying "Ma'am, ma'am, I have a question." Eventually my buddy got fed up and turned around, at which point the stranger straight up asked him if he had a d*ck. We aren't even sure how he know that my friend was trans.
thats messed up
homeschooling pros
no bullying probably
flexible schedule
take classes you actually wanna take
forge your transcript
homeschooling cons
do you like friends and being social? lol, sorry, nope
sheltered af
parents are not qualified to teach and will get pissed off once a day
confusion and stress
laziness in general
lethargy
social awkwardness
being alone/with your parent all day
I think this can be summed up by saying…. America has some problems with the school system…. all aspects of the schooling system.
yup
amarica has many problems
And then theres canada. We have a special homeschooling program which my family only found out about hen we decided to do actual school lmao
unpopular opinion I like school
Like the American education system is crap, but I was extremely lucky and got an amazing high school and I had amazing academic and social and leadership and extracurricular opportunities, which I know most people don't have, but like…
School isn't all bad
when executed properly, school can be good
true
Wow! I love being in a school that’s K-12, so either I’m trampling over kindergarteners, or being trampled by seniors.
ikr
i'm already loving college and i haven't even started classes yet
tbh i might have liked public school
i'll never know lol
Just got back from college. I'm happy that it's the first day because that means there's no homework right now!
