Yes! Reylo
The author of the last Jedi novel mentioned Reylo shippers directly in a tweet regarding the book which comes out next week. Also, Someone happened to get it early and has been tweeting about it. We get baby Ben flash backs and more clarification about the force bond
@Jenna Interesting! I might have to pick it up sometime!
Oh god, I feel like I ghostwrorote this post- Also hey! More Reylo shippers!
I mean, this is mostly obvious in the Star Wars fandom, but there’s more and more people who say things along the line of ‘if you don’t like (or do like) shipping Character A and Character B, you’re racist/homophobic/antifeminist/promoting abuse. It’s like, calm down. Just because I don’t ship StormPilot or Drarry or Wolfstar doesn’t mean I’m homophobic. It just means I don’t like the chemistry. I don’t ship drarry because I don’t like mutual hate ships. Same with Kylux. But I do ship Barrissoka and Amileia. Another thing is when I ship a couple like Finnrose or Jeggy, people are like ‘no you can’t do that, that character’s gay’. 1. That’s bi erasure. Finn is attracted to Rey and probably also to Poe (let’s be honest, who isn’t?) 2. Just because you headcanon Poe as gay doesn’t mean that he is. I headcanon Poe as pan. That doesn’t make your headcanon more or less canon than mine. The only reason I ship Jeggy is because Jasmine and Anthony are in a relationship. Like geez, fanbabies (I, uh, mean fanboys) GROW THE KRIFF UP!!!!
SOO TRUE. The VLD fandom has this problem everywhere!
That’s why I’m making sure that I confirm my character’s sexualities somewhere, not because I want brownie points, but because I want REPRESENTATION without erasure!
