It's really quick and don't take it as a "duh it's this way" type of thing.
Think/Picture an Apple
Do you see an image or not?
If you see an image…
- How clear is it on a scale from 1-10?
- Can you describe or find a picture of what your thinking of?
If you don't see an image…
I see an image:
8; it's clear, and only gets a little fuzzy when I start to focus on the apple. It's a red delicious apple, with a light green leaf. It's sitting on a white platter on a white table in a green screen colored room.
I don't see an image.
I think of a definition. Sort of like it's a fruit that's red and looks like a heart-butt thing with a stem.
I see an image.
And like 7 or 8. It's a shiny red apple with a bent little stem. There's a little bit of a glare and you can see some yellow around it too.
I see an image.
Probably 9 or 10.
White background, shiny, fresh red apple. Has a stem going slightly to the left (our left). Glare on the apple.
I see an image kinda, like it's not there but it is there
Maybe about a 4
no back ground, a red apple that is kinda generic with a stem and no leaf.
Oop, I forgot to mention the depth of my image. There's a glare, and realistic shading, but when I look closely it is harder to make out.
Seems like a lot of people (And by people I mean respondents) can see images in their head. New question:
Do you think everyone could see images in their heads?
No. My cousin doesn't, and he explained how he only thinks of words associated with the object. He says he knows what it looks like, and can describe it, but cannot actually see it in his mind.
I see an apple that's really focused. It's a green apple with… kinda freckles? Tiny brown spots. I think everyone will be different.
I don't see an image at all, and I obviously don't think everyone sees one because of that. (And I've actually done a lot of research on why but I don't know if you want me to actually say anything for the sake of the experiment)
I see an image, I’d say an 8.5, had here’s the closest to it that I could find

I see an image but it's black and white and very fuzzy, around a 4 or 5. A generic apple with a stem and no leaf
No background or anything, just the shape of an apple

Feel free to. I was curious as to how many people on here actually could see images in their mind. This was more of a for funsies type thing.
Also I thought for most of my life everyone was lying when they said they could see images. Then I found out. They weren't. So yeah…..

It's called aphantasia and around 3% of the population has it!
That's the name! I've been trying to come up with that name for like a week now.
