You called :)
Aye!!! Hello!!
Hi
Just asking, what type of poems do you write?
Im not a super avid poet, i think ive written a grand total of two in the span of last year :/ but i think what I write is freeverse?
Nice
I alternate with freeverse and rhyming poetry but like, I was super traumatised about rhyming because of a school project so…yeah
I attempted to make mine a rhyming poem, but again, my vocab is slowly expanding 😅
Heres one i wrote the other day:
You are the sea,
Rising and falling with the moods
Upon you are the sailboats,
Fluttering sails and sailor's coats,
En route to shore undiscovered, and yet so trusting,
Trusting as I, your sailor.
You are the sea,
The wind, the sky, the air,
The earth, the fire and sun—
All of you provides my lee
So much more than water, to me a sailor keen,
In this respects, my domain, and I yours.
As the sea, your power,
To raise the ivory necklaces of the waves and the foam tower,
Or rest me into softer sands.
Either humble in deep or shove into shoals.
I navigate you yes,
However you, the sea, prescribes my deliverance—
You are my sea, i am your sailor.
A short one:
I wandered often
Into the unknown
Small, tentative steps
Reaching with my mind
Where my flesh cannot follow
Curious
But deathly afraid
Afraid of what I’d discovered
If I strayed too far
Safe-guarding the bliss of ignorance
While trying to see
What is, was, and will be
Here's one I wrote in 7th grade
Better in video/audio form so here ya go. I really admire Shane Koyczan (slam poet).
