Let's see…

  • people who take pieces of someone's identity (religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, political alignment) and use them as insults
  • people acting like they're "woke" or whatever about an issue and making a couple of valid points or complaints, but they're mixed in with bs, so it doesn't even matter (for example, my mom seeing a really stupid commercial for an anti-depressant, making a comment that they went about it wrong, but then saying a bunch of stupid stuff after the fact, kind of nullifying her point and making me feel bad for being mildly depressed…)
  • people making offhanded jokes/comments that are meant to be playful and not hurtful, but you're anxious and can barely interact with people, so you freak out
  • people who invalidate any sexual orientations by calling them "made-up" can fight me. Same with people who refuse to use the right pronouns.
  • people worming their way into conversations or friend groups and being extremely loud, rude, or intrusive about it (I had a really bad situation like this back in the fall… just no…)
  • people who argue for the sake of arguing, and have to have the last word no matter what.
  • people who use their age as a reason for why they're right and you aren't
  • anti-vaxxers
  • people who make jokes about hating their SO, being tied down by them, or otherwise being a burden
    (Hmmm I wonder why at least half of these apply to my mother…)

Okay wow I wasn't sure what to write for my own list, but I guess I didn't need to write anything since you wrote it for me. I agree with all of this.

@CoolBeanz

Mmm also when people who are better at something than you, and have been doing it for longer, laugh when you don’t do as well, as just straight up do bad. Like, I’m literally trying and teaching myself this shit get off my case smh you sucked once get off your high horse.

Yeah! The good people are the people who are good at a thing that see you struggling and go, "Hey, we've all been there!"

That's how I am. You can't expect a newcomer to have any prowess…
Basic logic…

Yes I agree!
And also when you train hard and surpass someone who had been 'better' and then they get mad at you?? Like guys I'm just trying to do my best?
Like when my team took 6th and a special award at Globals and got to go onstage, on the way to the stage my friend stopped to basically say 'hey I'm sorry you guys didn't place' (and nicely, not sarcastically) and that he was sure they did a great job and they wouldn't even high five him because they were all bitter that we beat their placing of 7th from a year before.

Many of my pet peeves have been written down already, but I’ll add one more thing.

“Men cannot be sexually assaulted.” Like, God, reading things like that makes me want to go on a rampage. It makes me so furious! I’m also not trying to start a war (of course), but a while back I was reading about people wanting a show to be shut down for their sexual assaults on their male guests (it came to light because one of the hosts pulled down the pants of a male guest) and in the comments section, someone had written (not word-to-word), “It’s all for fun and jokes. No need to create such a scene over it.” It infuriated me. If it was a woman, the internet would have been on fire. Why do people think men cannot be sexually assaulted? Why is it okay to touch men without their permission, but it’s a sin when it’s a woman? Whatever your gender is, being touched without your permission, especially with ill intentions, should not be okay.

As a woman, I agree completely.

@CoolBeanz

Yeah, sexual assault is NEVER okay. I hate this idea that guys are supposed to "want it" or that girls must have been "asking for it." It makes me sick on various levels.

Definitely.

I agree furiously. And people should NOT be ashamed for speaking up about their sexual assaults.

@CoolBeanz

Another thing that really gets to me is when people straight up refuse to expand their wordviews, learn new things, or extend compassion towards others.
