(sorry, i'm not mormon, i just really like bom)

i'm happy you like the bom
I've always wanted to know what the Mormon church is like. Could you elaborate?
Well, it would take a while to explain lol, but what would you like to know about specifically?
All of it.
@BBC_Fangirl, We are almost like any other church. But, obviously we're different. Our actual name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (I know, it's a mouthful) The reason we are called "Mormons" is because there is a really amazing prophet in our Book of Mormon, named Mormon and he was really faithful when in his time he was the only person who was apart of his church. And that was after a period when everyone was apart of the church. (I mean everyone on the American continent because there was a couple families that migrated there to be safe from the destruction that happen in Jerusalem.) That's sort of where we get our name. you can also go here and ask questions of our actual missionaries. They'll be happy to answer any of your questions: https://www.mormon.org/missionaries
I probably explained it really bad though XD
Now about our actual church, we go to every Sunday like you'd expect. We have different wards that go at different times so we aren't all pact into our church and trying to learn with like 200 different people lol. We have a Bishop of each ward and normally call him The Bishop during church, but you don't have to outside of church :D. During the first 70 mins of church, we have a sacrament meeting where we take part of the sacrament, we eat bread and drink water in remembrance of the blood of Jesus Christ (one thing that sets our church apart from all the other christian churches is that we believe that Jesus and God are two separate beings). After we take part in the sacrament we will usually have a few people go up to the stand and talk about a certain subject, whether it be the Holy ghost, blessings, the gospel, etc. until time is over. On the first Sunday of the month we have Fast and Testimony Meeting where we are supposed to fast for whatever we feel we need to and people will go up to the stand and bear their testimony instead of having talks. Afterwards, we split into classes. The Young Men will have their class (males ages 12-18), the Young Women will have their class (females ages 12-18), the relief society will have their class (Women who are out of young womens and do not have a calling), and so on and so forth. We have a nursery for the little babies who are too young to go to primary and they play games and have snacks and to simple lessons. Primary if for kids I believe of age 4-11 where they sing songs and learn of the basics of the church (the prophets, what the gospel is, ect.). And then, we are done!! After our classes we go home and chill for the rest of the day with our fam because Sunday is supposed to be a time to rest and spend with your family :3
Sorry, I probably explained this terribly lol, if you have any questions about this, feel free to ask!
Edit: man there is so much now that I think about it to our church it'll be hard to explain it all today lol
That is so true though and in addition to Jesus Christ and God being separate, so is the Holy Ghost. they are one in purpose, but each has a different spirit. both God and Christ have gotten physical bodies, but the Holy Ghost doesn't yet so he can visit ours to give us direction (that's how I understood it when it was explained don't quote me on that)
also, you guys are explaining it wonderfully! lol I probably just confused everyone with mine.
This is a very good talk my sister showed me when she got home from her mission. it's kind of old, but very good for youth. (idk how old you guys are but I'm a youth so there you go)
Wow, Mormonism sounds like a very interesting religion. Is there a way to "join" it? Sorry, I'm just interested in it.
Also important fact you need to know - Mormons really do have horns and hooves. that's why we don't use pillows or dance.
that was a joke and yes you can join it. you should get the missionary lessons though, they'll help you better than we could.
Of course there is a way to join it! I'd recommend studying up on the church, doing as much research as you can, then go talk to your local bishop. I'm sure he'll help you from there. When you're ready, you can get baptized and I guess your a member! Oh! And try and read the book of mormon. Man I haven't even read through it (I should really get on that) and i've been in the church my whole life! Trust me when I say it is a hard thing to understand, kinda like the bible in a way?
