I'm working on something of a sci-fi universe too called 24th Century Madhouse, it starts with a mysterious youngster by the name of Aizen Yamato, who is experimented on by an Earth company known as ConTexh along with several other orphans in an underground laboratory, he uses the mutations ihe gained unknown to the comply, to free himself and several other kids. This lab however was isolated and surrounded by a barren ghost town wasteland known as "the Ghetto" the freed must find their way out of the Ghetto then. Luckily, some interplanetary mercenaries were sent by ConTech to thin the numbers of some of the "inhabitants" there on the downlow, which are ConTech's failed experiments. Aizen saves a few of their lives from one such inhabitant, and gets them to give the freed a ride out of there so they can start a new life. Aizen ends up coming with them, and joins their squad as an unofficial member.

Aizen is a really cool name, also sorry I panicked and deleting my post, I'm still warming up to sharing! But I really like how detailed your world is, it's very developed. I'm sure you have a ton of details surrounding it. Thanks for sharing and good luck writing!
